Hey guys, Should I use a fuel additive during break in?

Would Standynes Lubricity formula be good or bad for break in ? I have about 4,000 mile on it now. Which Standyne blend should I use (if any) for my new engine, especially when in CA with it's low sulfur fuel? I'm in Oregon rest of the time. What's with their fuel? Okay?

Headed towards the cold country tomorrow so any input is apprciated!

I would start using a good fuel additive starting with Tank One. The lubrication is for the injection pump, not the engine itself, and helping the injection pump out in any way possible from the get-go does not hurt. Also, a good additive will help keep injectors clean and promote clean, efficient combustion which will reduce deposits in the combustion chamber, rings and valves. I've used additives on most tanks since my truck was new.

Try the Howes... At the Flying J truck stop I fill up at, every trucker I have spoken with said use the Howes. It is the only one at that stop that the shelf runs out alot. I like it.

2001. 5 3500 ETH/DEE It is one of the new Stealth models, you know, the ones that sure feel like they have been worked.
 
I used additives in the Volkswagon since tank 2 (dealer supplied tank 1).

I've been using additives in the truck since I picked it up. I hope the preveous owner did the same for the first 72K miles worth of fuel.
