i am interested in swapping for an eth dee. I WANT THE SIX SPEED. i will swap in my dd2s and use a comp box, switched to level 1 for towing. of course i will use the boost elbow. i dont really want to swap turbos. im gonna need to swap over my pac-brake too.

my 98. 5[ez,dd2s,4 inch straight pipe, air mods] runs no hotter than 800 post turbo on a hot day with a load. i have heard the eth runs a little hotter on the pyro. what i wanna know is,,,,,,,,,,, how much hotter do they normally run in a towing situation with comparable upgrades.

and will the comp on the higher levels make the eth run too hot, even PLAYING WHILE EMPTY. should i just use an ez.

and,,,,,,,,,

would it be a mistake to go to an eth.

My rig is used for towing RVs. (that's what I do) I generally run down the road towing, in a no wind situation, at 10 to 12 lbs. of boost and 500 to 600 on the pyro. If I stand on it in the summer up in Colo. pulling a fiver up a pass, I might get it to 900. It runs coooool. Read Sig.

barry,

is that temp pre or post turbo

My 3500 01 ETH with 4. 10's,275's and a VA pulling a 13,000 lb. 38' 5th wheel 65 mph on a level road the EGT's will run about 1000-1100 deg. Switching on the propane will help drop the temp's 50 to 75 deg's.

I have found the best way to control exh. temp is with your right foot. Keeping the RPM's up in the 2200 to 2500 range seem to help also.

Absolutely stock, our ETH/DEE pulling a 13,500 lb 5th wheel would reach a maximum pre-turbo EGT of 1300 degF on steep grades. With the EZ, boost elbow, BHAF and Jardine 4" exhaust, max pre-turbo EGT has dropped to 1100 degF.
