I just bought a house and the height of the garage door looks very close to the height of my truck. It is a standard size door, and I was wandering if any of you have a 2001 4x4 ram that will fit under a standard 7ft garage door? Thanks guys.
OK. I was concerned with the height. The garage is supposed to be 22 ft. long, so it should fit length wise. I knew it was going to be close as to whether I would peel back the roof if I tried to drive into it or not.
Why do you want to hide your beautiful truck in the garage? The only time mine goes inside is if I am working on it, but that has to be at my brother's shop. My garage is too small.
Mine fits! The first thing I did when I was considering buying the house was to test fit the truck. I had a 96 LB at the time, the current ride is just a shorter version of yours Hale. The 96 had 33s with no lift and it fit ok. Got a garge that the QCLB will fit in? That rocks man!
I have a 7' door and my 2001. 5 4x4 Long Bed fits with just a few inches to spare. I was concerned about length but forgot to consider height. I was quite shocked to see how close it came to not fitting. The 4x4 Ram is way taller than my 4x4 Dakota was.
My truck doesn't come close to fitting in to the garage, but I can get it into the uderground parking at school with a 7 foot ceiling. by about 3 inches. stock tires and no lift
right now i live in the sunset district in san francisco. i have a tandem garage so the hot rod, motorcycles and everything else fits. only thing i have to do is collapse the mirrors to fit in. i have a 4x4 and ricksons so i ride a little higher that normal and i have a few inches to spare on the height.
i just finished house hunting. declined most because olga wouldn't fit. wound up buying a house with a carport attached to a cottage!!!!!!! maybe you can tell a girlfriend had a large part to do with that decision well i'll have to admit... . it is kinda cool. however one of the top priorities will be to enclose the carport so tools compressor etc will be safe and in a proper work environment.
moral of the story..... garages are very important to gear heads!!
Mine fits height by 1" and length by -1/2", had to bomb my garage door a little. Cut out a notch in the bracing to fit the bumper, and have to pull right up against the washer and dryer, but its all good. Dwayne
