Fuel pump ?

Who says a 4B doesn't have much power?

As I was driving down the freeway today, a sense of pride came over me as I was motoring along. I tinker alot with me truck, whether it be cleaning it most of the time, adding stuff to it or just talking about a wish list I have for it. I get a ton of slack about it from co-workers and especially my wife (she has to put up with my hobby).

It makes you proud to sit high and hear that diesel clattering, sounding tough, knowing you can pull just about anything you want (realistic),when other truck owners look over and nod their head and you do the same with a grin, when younger fellows say "hey sir, nice Dodge", flooring the throttle in third gear and watching all the smoke in your rear view mirror in the headlights behind you when you get off work at night, it's something you dont get in your other vehicles. And to be surrounded by a bunch of other diesel-heads like you guys, tops it all off.

Cheers,

James

It also makes you proud when your wife tells her friends that no she is not getting a mini van, but that her husband is going to get her that new diesel Jeep when it comes out. It took a year but now the wife likes my diesel truck. :D

I get the pride thing, and all that but mostly I feel real snobbish and condescending toward the other drivers--kind of like, "Good grief! Who let your sorry a$$ on the road?" And "Hey! Keep that stinking ricer exhaust away from my air intake. " Or, "Wow! His grandmother must be real nice, letting him drive her Chevy Monza. " And the ever-popular, "Dumba$$!" You have to look real disgusted and shake your head when using that last one... :D:-laf:D:-laf:D:-laf

My wife wanted a step side gasser before I got my !st Dodge. That problem soon went away. Now I have 3 & still every time the wife looks at another vehicle of any kind she ends up saying "Forget that - we could get another dodge diesel for around that kind of money"

My better half has come around to the diesel ways. She too wants the new Jeep with the diesel.

I feel good in my truck. I do have pride that the truck is mine (kind, bank owns a good portion of it).

That and I get e kick out of people saying/thinking what a nice truck my dad has and how I must be a good "kid" to get to barrow it (I'm 23 but look under 20).

Toast...

:p Just Don't toast with "Red Truck" Brand whine. It's Label says "No Diesel in this Truck" LOL. But, Yes I do feel a sense of pride when I drive my truck. "If I have to explain, Then you won't understand. " You Know? Regards, Moose

I really hate to get a 2nd vs 3rd genny thing going - but when some of the owners of the latest stuff start ragging about how quiet THEIR trucks are compared to ours - the above quote as to WHY I like mine better comes very much to mind... ;) :D :p

I have to say this and i quote *GIVE ME DIESEL OR GIVE ME DEATH* I will never own another gasser, except for the 69 mustang in the garage. There is just something about riding down the road hearing that Cummins purrrrr along.

I honestly believe once you go Diesel you will never go back. The sound of a diesel jeep just gives me goosebumpsOo.

Same here Wyatt, this is my first diesel powered truck and I won't go back to a gas engined truck. Heck before I purchased my Dodge, I expressed my interest in a diesel and my hard nosed father in law had nothing but negatives to say. . too loud, smoke too much, no power (he was use to the early Chevy years and their Detroit Diesel) but guess who has started looking for one know, yep!

ditto

Yeah, I like to hear the little woman get excited about the truck. Why just the other day I told her about the diesel that will be coming out in the Liberty's and with a twinkle in her eye she asked if I thought they would eventually put a cummins in the Durangos. She said that would be the perfect vehicle to replace our toyota 4-runner in about 4 years. You can imagine, I had a smile that you couldn't have slapped off my face. :D :D :D She likes me to keep my truck running and looking good and doesn't mind a little mild bombing as long as I don't get carried away. Of course her definition of getting carried away might be a little different than mine. :D

I have to laugh every time I hear from a non believer "But where are you going to find diesel?". When I point to the diesel price posted under the gas prices across the street, I get "Well, I never noticed that before. " Been there the 7 years the station has.
