Dogs or Cats?

Cats and dogs in combination can spell disaster for your paint job. Anyone ever had a dog try climbing up the side of your rig to get the cat? Friend of mine had $4k damage done to his Mercedes when two Rots "treed" a cat on the roof. There was not one body panel left unscathed. Unfortunately they were his daughter's dogs.

The only people I can think of that own cats are lonely single women, and homosexual men... . is there a relationship there?



Oh, and dogs less than 60lbs aint dogs, those are cats! Real dogs leave piles in the yard as big as a Yorkie!!

Cats are way to independant for me.

I doubt that I will ever have a dog. I don't want to have to hurry home at the end of the day so that I can walk Fido. Yes, cats are independent, and it works both ways ... they don't need us, but then they don't need us either.

I've always had cats growing up due to the amount of traveling we did. Cats are very low maintenance. In the past 2 years we adopted a 4 year old Bullmastiff. It is a different experience owning a dog. I like both. I find the cat more relaxing but the dog more enjoyable from activities we can do together. Now getting the dog to do as you would like in new situations is almost as difficult as getting a cat to come when you call them!

Are there any psychologists in our ranks who'd like to give us a general psychoanalysis on those who prefer dogs, cats, both and none?



It would be interesting to see what personality types we tend to have.



My family is proud to say that we have been able to tame almost any cat. It doesn't mean that we've been able to get them to do tricks and stuff, but we have taken in barn cats and strays, who wouldn't let you get close to them and we've socialized them. Our first order of the day, when we take in a new cat, is to get it neutered or spayed. That seems to get their attention right away and they immediatly know who's the boss. After that the rest of the taming process is easy



Sure, cats are independent, but are they any more independent than we are or would like to be?



At least my cats don't lick me in the mouth when I'm sleeping!

My parents cat was nuetered and de clawed in the front at the same time... . Talk about having a surprise when you wake up. For that reason it has taken the cat 8 years to start liking my mom

I've had cats all my life and several dogs. Every dog I've owned I gave away to the first person that took a liking to him and I trusted would give him or her a good home. They stink, dig, bark, crap all over the yard, dig, bark, run off down the road and peec off the neighbors, bark all night, and bark. My cat stays inside the house, he's quiet, he comes to me when I call him, he's funny as all he!!, and he plays with anything. He's clean, he doesn't slobber or lick his balls when company is over, he doesn't stink like a dog, he doesn't chew on the furniture or scratch the doors and the sides of the vehicles. And best of all, we can go away for several days and come home to a relaxed cat that doesn't mind that we left him home. An animal in my truck? I let the kids ride in it. They smudge up the windows enough as it is. Did I mention dogs bark all night and crap all over the place. I recon I'll vote for felines. Wusa matter BCfast, ya don't like poo-c anymore?

Dogs, even though I am forced to live with two cats... . They came as a package deal with the Wife. It's funny my dogs will chase things if I give them a command (always fun when new people are over). The cats are quicker to react than the dogs to the command. They hear it and head for the hills... ... .



Of course if this is ever divulged to my wife I will deny deny deny... .....

I can sum this up pretty easy :



Situation : Your in your house an a intruder breaks in and starts violently beating you (pretend you don't own a gun) 9 times out of 10 your dog will attack this intruder and if big enough rip his arm off. What does the cat do ? It sits and watches licking its paws till your breathing your last breathe and then kind of looks at you as if saying " Does this mean I'm not getting fed tonight "
