Hello All! I just bought my truck (sig) a few weeks ago and I am enjoying it. I'm new here as well to the forum. Yes I'm posting this in a few forums just to get the word of warning out. Bad experiences happen, that's life. Bad companies, well, lets say I like to make sure word gets out.

My truck has an aFe intake (from a few years back) and I noticed the 4" intake tube was loose. The cheap silicone boot provided by aFe that mounted the intake tube to the turbo flange MELTED / Cracked! It was letting in unfiltered air and I'm not sure how long that lated. Gotta love new ("Used") vehicles. So I pulled the intake apart and started looking for a "high heat" silicone coupler to replace it with. When searching, I saw TurboHoses R&D, Inc. suggested as a seller of high quality, high heat silicone hoses, silicone couplers. It was not a good experience. You can get what they sell from E-Bay. I have the part number of what i received from them to prove it.

I rated Turbo Hoses, Inc. "1-Star" on YELP. I wrote a review of my experience and decided to post it here too. I wanted to share my experience to save others some money and headache on silicone parts.

-------- (YELP Post)----------------

DO NOT BUY from this group!

I purchased a 3inch long piece of high heat silicone (they advertise it as "600 degree") coupler (4 inches in diameter). I paid $20. My purchase receipt (printed at checkout) says $20 total!

They charged $11.88 in shipping after I chose the $0 shipping option when I checked out! In total, they billed me $31,88 for the 3 inch long piece of silicone, when my purchase receipt says $20!

When I called, the guy was indignant that their web page "says in big red letters at the top and bottom of the page" that "shipping is added later". I told him yeah, "I saw that BUT I CHOSE THE $0 shipping option" so I expected $0 to be added". He just kept saying there is a warning on the web page that they add shipping later. And I kept saying "I expected $0 to be added later because that is what i chose." He also said "this is how we do business" and "we do not have a shipping calculator" on the web site.

I received the silicone coupler by UPS delivery and it is marked as "T17901-102" and "Made in China". I searched Google for this part number and it came up on E-Bay as a 500 degree coupler (NOT 600 DEGREE as it is advertised on TurboHoses web page). The E-bay hose looks identical to what I bought from TurboHoses and E-Bay is selling it for $12 and free shipping! Great.

So the TurboHoses products can be bought off e-bay for much cheaper.

No resolution by calling them, no apology, no offer to reverse shipping, or in any way make this right. I'll never buy from them again, AND I'll post my experience on all the web boards I belong to.

I hope the extra money they got from me was worth it.

Just found him at MrBob's Distributing. Wow, he is expensive.

I'll stick with E-Bay hoses from SPS Racing. Very reasonable, free shipping and great quality. See here for what I'm talking about. The SPS silicone is great quality, thick and clearly reinforced. I'll buy that again.

Just a note about silicone hoses in general. Please make sure the proper smooth back clamps are used and that there are no sharps or stress risers anywhere. I have a lot of experience with silicone hoses. Not on Rams, but on Mack trucks. Since the Volvo take over, this technology is used extensively in the cooling system. Lots of wierd shaped one off hoses. If the wrong clamps are used, or if they're mounted in tension or put together wet, etc, you WILL have problems.
I'm sure inferior products must make this issue much worse.
Go for the good stuff!
