Not the same vehicle, but same idea.

I owned a Honda Gold Wing GL1200 bought it new in 1986, one of the last as they started the GL1500 in 1988 IIRC. I had plenty of chances from friends that owned them I belonged to GWRRA and they kept coming and coming and coming but I never drove the new fangled flat 6 Honda cause I knew that flat 4 would no longer feel good enough.

LOL! I gave the same warning to people ("Don't do it!") after I rode the brand-new GL1800. At least one of my friends didn't listen... I had a 1200 at the time too, an 84. I was honeymooning in the Blue Ridge mountains with my new wife and my bro-in-law's GL1500 when we stopped in at the Honda store. Thankfully there was absolutely no chance I could buy a new Wing, so I could wish all I wanted with no worry about making the payment. It was an amazing bike! There is now even less chance that I could buy a new truck, so there's no harm in me driving one.

One thing's for sure, if I ever _could_ buy a new truck, I could never (short of a lotto win) trade it for another after 5 years. And all those electronics with an expired warranty scare the crap outta me! So I'll stick with ol' reliable, and just rebuild her every 20 years or so...

I looked at prices for new 2014 diesel trucks at my local dealer. The Ecodiesel 3.0 liter short bed cheapest 4x4 was about $48,000 and a 6.7 CTD 4x4 2500 8' bed one is only $37,000! Why is the Ecodiesel one so much more? IT has to be supply and demand. The big guy has to cost more to build. What am I missing? Thanks, Herb

It's in the options... many of 1500 series Eco-diesel trucks are Laramie/Laramie Longhorn models and loaded with luxury options whereas some of the 2500/3500 models are Tradesman level trucks.
