Had my 3500 checked over yesterday (last time under warranty, yah! Now I can do whatever I'm willing to pay for!) and figured I'd have them drop in a new fuel filter while it was there. Big mistake. Dodge charges $42. 50 for that fuel filter. Egads! I have one laying in my tool box and just haven't taken the time.
So I told them I'd give them the one in my box and we'd call it even. They didn't go for it. I told them the fuel filter costs something like $10 from Cummins so they should start buying from them -- they said they would but their not allowed to (must buy from corporate). Live and learn. They were nice enough to reduce the charge some but it was still sticker shock.
Buy all filters from Cummins (or atleast not the dealer).
