oh save me big brother!!! show me the errs of my way

you all think when layoffs come it's gonna depend on who drove what?

we need to buy this country back, between the french and japs, americans own little or none ... ... ... ..... and then you got the chinese importing most durable goods.

****, nobody will stand up ... ... ... . it's easier to keep paying polititians to lie to us while they are putting foriegn companies in our backyards who tell us what and how we can drive.

beyond that, you can't smoke a cigarette (even on your own time) if you work for these companies ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Americans are selling thier souls

Not much different than a dress code, right?

Yes... does your company dress code tell you what BRAND of clothing you have to wear?

Who says they aren't supporting there company? A car/truck is a big monetary issue, if you cant afford it you cant afford it. You think a guy that bottles Hunt's catsup shouldn't buy Heinz? One tastes like crap the other doesn't. It's a PERSONAL taste and you can bet if I worked for Ferd to feed my family you can bet I sure as Heck wouldn't waste my money on one.

I am amazed that a bunch of guys that are so concerned about the gov't taking our libertires away with things like security cameras or national ID cards would support such a policy as this.

Private property, owners choice. If you don't like the policy of a business, no one is forcing you to work there.

I agree with this policy, They are not saying drive a Ford and you're fired. They are saying drive a Ford, just don't park in front of our plant please park it in a certain area. We would be making fun of a picture of a row of our Cummins powered trucks parked in front of a Ford plant. Whats the difference they want the vehicles in front of their plant on their private property.

You know if you don't like the rules you can always work somewhere else. The companies enjoy the same right to freedom as the employee and the company must accept the consequences of their rules (employee leaves), good or bad.

Whats wrong with product and company loyality! He broke several RULES with a attitude. Should have towed it further like the next state. Employee was acting like a *** and deserved what he got at the least. The dealers I worked for kind of expected a long term employee to drive their products or at least to ASK if it was ok to buy this off the used lot etc. It was always a verbal ok but it was a courtersy to ask. Service personal(service manager and such)always drove the product they handled(always). Why step on toes that pay the house note and supplied your kids with food!

Take it a step further. You or your family member works at a medical center. Their policy is: if sick the you must be treated by one of their doctors. Don't you want to be able to choose your own doctor? Don't you want to be able to purchase and drive what you want? Hell this is the United States, not some dictatorship.

You get a job somewhere else... ... ... ..... where in the constitution is the right to take away the rights of a owner to run his business the way he or she chooses? Freedom only works if it is applied to everyone not just you.

A lot of you who don't agree with this policey are absolutely "missing" the point. DC is not telling them they have to drive/buy a DC vehicle. Only that if they do, they can park in this special lot. Simple, no problem.

I still say, support the company that supports you or go work somehwere else if your not happy with their policey. Freedom of choice.

Kind of like... you can ride the bus but you have to sit in the back? I guess that is not familiar to some of you. What is really funny is the people who are talking about the companies freedoms to run a business. I guess you guys like being led around by the neck and told what you can or cant do. If being a sheep is your thing and everyone getting freedoms but you is fine, then go right ahead. I'm an American and I fought for my freedom's.

I would go on but it's no use, it's almost time to go back to your pens anyway. :-laf

Riding in the back of the bus was a civil rights issue dealing with a public transit system... that was corrected with the civil rights movement because you could not infringe on the rights of people based around their race, religion, ethnicity... and so on.

The parking lot of a private company reserving one area for one type of car versus an area for other types of cars is by no way protected by the Consitution... Were is the racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice?

Not everything in life that someone wants... means that you have the right.

Not saying it's racial, I'm giving an example. You can say all the examples I have given are not the same as what's going on, but they are the same against your freedom and someone telling you what you can and can't do. It's just a shame so many are willing to be treated as second class citizens on this site. I am really suprised so many would let a company tell them how to spend there money and they say yes sir, thank you sir, may I have another? JMO

they are not telling you how to spend your money... they are telling you were to park on the property they spent their money on.

Also, I was not taking in personal on a racial issue... just making sense out of what you claimed. I am actually a german boy so no offense was taken persoanlly

" What is really funny is the people who are talking about the companies freedoms to run a business"

What's funny about that? Do you have a monopoly on freedom? Only applies to you?

"I am really suprised so many would let a company tell them how to spend there money and they say yes sir, thank you sir, may I have another? JMO"

So if you own a large company you forfeit your rights to run it as you please? Should they now bend over for you before they make a rule and make sure you approve? Grow up and get a job somewhere else if you can't handle following the rules of the company you work for. It is a free country after all and the freedom covers everyone and is not based on the size, be it large or small, of your paycheck.

I'm surprised there haven't been any lawyers chiming in here. Surely there must be a TDR member with civil/corporate law experience?

Wait a minute... .

Maybe on the Toyota Prius forums, but not here.

We're just a bunch of good 'ol boys who believe in discriminating against others. :-laf

Seriously though, and it's not due to the fact that I live in California, this policy is discrimination, and it's wrong.

The company is discriminating against you if they won't let you park with everyone else just because you don't have a DC product. No two ways about it.

with that form of explanation then they would be discriminating against people by putting up signs that say girls restroom and boys restroom...

Did you read this? They ARE telling you how to spend your money or you have to park in the back. I fully believe in freedom period so ofcourse I have no monopoly on it. I just believe a companies discrimination does not overwrite my freedoms. Tell me again how they would be bending over for me... . if your working there your bending over for them in more ways than one. . glad you like it.

Don't get me wrong, if you guys are willing to let your freedoms go (probably because you already have a decent job and you already own a Chrysler product) then go ahead. I'm just trying to open your eyes. I'm betting if you worked at BMW making A great wage and they said you had to have a BMW that you couldn't afford you would be preaching a different tune. I don't work there so I won't argue about it anymore.

A few are pretty wound up about this, sit back, take a breather and relax. I'm not trying to inflame you, just show you another view.

Good thing I dont work for Ford, cause I hate walking, and you KNOW i'd never sell my cummins

i am on the fence on this one... it wouldn't make a difference to me really... as i park way out in the sticks all the time [at school and work and shopping... ] just a little less likely to get a door ding that way

and you see the tools that circle the parking lots to get the prime up front parking spot, and i am parked in the sticks, and in the store after walking the 1/4 mile to get there before they have a spot
