Door edge protectors

Seems like Ram doesn’t offer a factory door edge protector for the 2020 and 2021 .

What have members found that works well!

65k on my 11 DRW and 88k on 15 DRW no edge protectors on either and not a single ding.

I’d rather have my door smashed in then a ding , then you get it fixed , sometimes those dings you let go , but I’m guilty of getting those fixed too. Just had a ding and scratch fixed on mine to the tune of $750, well a big ding right on the crease , so had to have the whole tailgate repainted .

once, a week after I got a brand new 1998.5 24 valve, we went to the in-laws for dinner and my father in law (God Bless His Soul) he asked to use my truck to have a slate pool table to his house!

I looked at him and said something on the lines of , I’ll help for sure, but can I please get my first scratch myself?

He wasn’t very understanding.

My 22 came with them for the front doors anyway perhaps you can get some of those (at least if you are talking about the thin plastic piece that fits over the door edge and is perhaps 16 inches long

I’m talking about the horizontal ones that go the length of the truck. In the indent on the body made for them

But now I have a permanent handicap plate and door bumps in handicap spaces is pretty much a thing of the past

I ask my dealer parts guy for them. No longer have them. I’m looking at some Dorman brand

I bought clear off Amazon for my 5500 and wife's 1500... works nice. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll look in my three-ring binder for the receipt.

Yeah, Amazon is the source for sich items, so many different kinds there.

I have a specific application for mine... didn't figure I needed pics to show small ones won't hit 8 inch perlings in shop. Next lifetime I build 60ftx60ft ish shop I'll space 4ft between shop big rollups. So my door edge protectors protect my door edges from the 4ft off the ground 8 inch perling. I recall seeing chrome and black ones as well.

DISCLAIMER: This doesn't protect slamming door open... I lay my doors up against them... they are just right at full open.

Something I'm starting to see happening is hi lifted trucks marking other trucks opening doors. Happened once on my former 2009 Ram 4500... door mark dent/scratch near my DS door handle. I keep eye on my 5500 as it's 5.5 inches taller.

I look for stalls like these. If none available I will park in the back 40 and take two stalls.

Yeah, but, a ramp/lift or electric wheelchair hitting the door from a mobility van is much worse.
