Need to cut a 4.5 inch hole in my rear bumper. Any suggestions?

So about a year ago the left rear door lock actuator quit working. not a biggy, just annoying having to manually lock/unlock the door. But this morning I noticed that I didn't get the "click" sound I normally hear when I unlock the doors. Looks like there is power going to the actuators but they are weak or didn't work at all. (as in all the doors now) I have not dug any farther into the issue as of this first post. Any ideas, suggestions?

Try each one by itself. If they work at each station, your drivers switch is probably bad or the drivers door harness is open.

More than likely the wiring harnes between the pillar and door has broken wires . The bean counters went cheap on these very stiff wire only good for so many open and closes.

I think that this has been an on-going problem. On my '03, it's the driver side controller lock-out button that is the culprit. If I spray some WD-40 in the button and work it, all the other window actuators come to life. In a search a while back IIRC, the removal of the DS switch, take it apart, and touch up the solder to fix. Or- $140. 00 for the new part  Or- I have completely misunderstood your question. Oo.

It seemed to be more of a global problem. The weird thing was that after driving the truck for 45 minutes, they seemed to work normally. This leads me to believe that it was more of a battery issue. I still have the original batteries, now 7. 5 years old. I don't know if both batteries run the entire rig, or one is for starting and the other is for the accessories. Of course the drives side rear door lock still is inoperable, but I already knew that.

Both batteries are wired in to the whole system, there is no load splitting between the 2. If you have a weak battery and possibly a bad cross over cable it is hard telling what will happen.

Since the locks are tied into the cluster it is possible that is an issue also.

Same thing on my 07' Mega. From a previous thread it pointed to the wire harness from pillar to door. Took it apart and checked wires and couldn't see anything a miss. Put it all back together and hasn't given me any issues for about 6 months.

I think in cases such as mine, the switch is right in the dripline if it rains and the window is down a bit. The windows always work from drivers area but infrequently work from the other 3 doors. The anti-mess with the other windows switch is not making contact and it is also hot/cold extremes sensitive.

After my door lock quit working later my L. R. door spk went out now my doom light will come on when the door is open but goes out. then when the door is closed the light comes back on & times out. ! Must be Mexican wire need to figure what to replace it with.

Use a high quality, same gauge wire that has MORE, FINER strands of wire in it... it will be more flexible... and last longer then the oem wire does!!
The problem is essentioally metal fatigue of the wires from the doors opening and closing. Many times, the initial break happens only INSIDE the wire insulation, so that you have to FEEL for the hard, brittle areas of the wire, as you cannot SEE a break in the insulation, although eventually it DOES break through and become very obvious.

Go to a hobby store that has electrics for cars and planes ,they have some nice silicone super multistrand wire that will work perfect. They use it for battery connections.
