i dont understand the delay w/ star or dodge, but i just had 2 injectors replaced w/no problem. the dealership ( for once) was great! all under warranty and then they reflashed for high idle for free,-----(now if only i could get that lift pump replaced) :-laf

they are on hold and cannot just be ordered and replaced. A hold could indicate serveral things like: a quality control problem, inventory shortages, known problems with a "fix kit" needed or further tests required like in this case. its an indicator that several trucks have come in with injector faillures and they are trying to get a handle on it and isolate the problem. If you think back to around mid 2001 the same thing happened with lift pumps.



These folks arent stupid. They train thier techs to look for tell tale things to indicate a "box" had been used. Personally, I dont blame them. I am my own warranty station comes to mind here.



I'll try to get the codes and test they asked for when this happened.

It is not a hold... ... ... . it is a restriction,in most cases they are an expensive part or it is something they have been replacing more than they think is legit ie incorrect testing or to try and learn what is causing the failures. Such as modifications. D/C is taking the diesel modding scene seriously and is looking at very closely now. Banks is just telling everybody to sue now,but does he offer to help find an attorney or pay a retainer?

If they won't sell me an injector (that I want to buy out of pocket), then they better provide me transportation until they repair the truck... I believe if you look into this, it is law.

They will sell you an injector no problem,,,,,,,,,,,on a warranty issue star will make the tech perform all the test required,then send the required parts. If you want to BUY an injector they will send it to the dealer on your dime :D

Aren't there "Bigger" injectors out there we can get for our 3rd gens? Seems like that would be the thing to do if you can't get the dealer to help you out. Jump in with both feet!!

You must have a good injector for a core so the next guy doesn't get burned :D That is why F-1 does your injectors not just sending someone elses .

It happens... ..... I got burned that way :eek:
