Love my truck and hate it also

Filters, hoses and Bio-diesel with the FASS

I am about to install a drag comp on the truck. Problem is-I don't have a upgraded fuel system in it yet. Do you think I will be OK for a little while until I can afford it?I was originally planning to run it without the wire tapped until I did upgrade it. But has anyone ran a comp thats tapped on a stock system?I don't have the gauges in yet(backordered). But they will be in before the comp. So,I don't really know what my fuel pressure is. But was wondering if I could get away with it stock for a while?I won't really be romping on it anyway seeing as the clutch is stock. Havent had the truck for more than a few weeks so I'm trying to figure all this out. Thanks for the help.

Without a fuel pressure guage i wouldnt do. With my comp on 5x5 i can pull it down to 0 without really nailing it. Passin a car or something will really suck the fuel. I have a new pump with good pressure with the box off. I dont even get a chance to get the pyro hot before i have to lift. Fifth gear at highway speed on kill mode you have about 3-4 seconds before pressure get to low. just my . 02 cents.

I will have gauges before the comp goes in. I don't have the guts to run any extra fuel without one!I was hoping to be able to run it tapped a little while with out a upgrade but I don't know if I should. But I could for sure run it in EZ mode without a pusher don't you think?

you could run with it tapped just take it easy. I read your thread real quick i see you will have guages just dont pull pressure down to low as it is hard on the pump. I have a stock clutch that is doing OK too. Im trying to make it last. Just dont lug it. Then she'll slip. Several of my buddies run that box . it is a real nice box. Power is smooth compared to some of the others out there.

I ran the plain comp tapped on the stock fuel system for a while, but also had to watch it on 5x5 as it would pull the fp down pretty fast. Now with the injectors and fass system I can't pull the fp down, but my stock turbo runs out of steam pretty fast on 5x5.

I also ran with comp and stock fuel system, you should be ok, as long as you have the gauges in, and watch them. As said before, the fuel pressure goes down pretty fast when you have it on 5X5. Good luck with the new truck!!
