Drag Racing 05 with edge box

Tonight I tried to drag race some one with my new 05 dodge and when I tried to rev the engine up with the brake on it would only go up to 2000-2100 rpm and took off terrible. when I would let off the brake a little it would build up a little more rpms. Anyone with any answers. I had the power level on 5 and the low fuel setting on 5.

Do you have a transmission temp gage?

No I do not as of yet

Your truck has what is called "torque management system" It will defuel when the ECU sees turbo boost without MPH. BD power has a fix for the problem its called the "racers anti defueler" or RAD. It is harder on your transmission though when launching on heavy boost.

Did you have the transmission slip feature disabled?

You need to turn off all the defueling for a few minutes. Level 5/5 is good for smoke, but not optimal on stock air intake/turbo. Try level 5/3 or 4/3, power brake to about 1500 rpms and pop the break while putting your right foot print in the carpet under the go pedal. You might still have a little turbo lag, but not much. Should pull from there until you let off.

Torque managment... I don't know how the BD RAD device works, but (on the 03's at least) with a transmission output speed = 0, max stall speed is 2096 rpm. At that point, the ECM defuels the truck.

I was kinda wondering if others see this (2096 rpm stall) with boxes on their truck (TST, Edge, Ramifier... etc. )

I was referring to the "Low Boost Fuel" setting for each power level. There are 5 "Low Boost Fuel" settings for each power level. I assume it refers to the duration of fuel event before turbo boost is matching output of additional fueling. I know that 3/3 provides a little more usable power than 3/5, but less smoke.



1 = Least smoke

5= Most responsive



Most responsive with stock turbo does not necessarily make you go any faster. It does make more black smoke and higher EGTs. For a quick get away from a light just want enough rpms to start some boost and then hammer down.
