The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is expecting lots of Rams to show up for the Friday May 18 Test-n-Tune drag racing. If enough of us show up ($17 per truck) to race, we will get our own lane without interference from gas pigs!
This track is NHRA, and follows NHRA rules. Some of the rules that may be of interest include:
1. fuel tank must be externally vented and no higher than top of rear tire [I believe this is for gasoline only, but it might be a good idea to have a bed mounted tank empty for this event just in case]
2. nitrous oxide if mounted in drivers compartment must be equipped with relief valve and vented outside of compartment.
3. no flexible exhaust pipe
4. non stock floor mounted auto transmission shifter must be equipped with a positive reverse lock-out device secured to shifter/transmission (not frame)
5. hub caps and trim rings must be removed
6. Helmet mandatory for cars 13. 99 or quicker, SFI Spec 31. 2 or Snell 85, 90, or 95.
7. Shirt and full length pants, no tank tops or exposed feet.
8. No plastic oil lines in driver compartment.
9. Cars with slicks running 13. 99 or quicker and any car running 12. 99 or quicker must have a full circumference drivelline loop within 6" of front universal joint [I don't know what they will say about a 2 piece driveshaft; maybe 2 loops].
Of course there are more rules, per NHRA rulebook, but these seem to be the ones most likely to affect our Rams, so long as they don't run quicker than 12. 00 sec.
HVAC, please note the above rules, as there may be a couple points you may need to address if they decide to enforce the rules closely.
