I'm installing the Vulcan draw straw due to the rusty and holy fitting on top. Wondering about a few things. The module is 2 piece and has sliders which ride on a set screw. It doesn't appear the 2 halves move from each other according to wear on the sliders. You can see in the picture the only wear is minimal right at the screw. There's 2 screws on 1 side and 1 on the other. I've read these 2 halves can be screwed together so they're in a fixed position. Does it make sense to do this? I would assume yes. Second, when the draw straw is placed in position the top fitting is offset from where the draw tube sits in a hole in the center bottom of the module causing it to sit at an angle. Would it make sense to heat the tube and put a bend in it to rid of the angle it sits since the tube bottom should sit flush at bottom of the strainer?

Bill, now I remember the two screws and two halves - yes screws to be tightened to secure both halves together. Can you post a picture from top down showing where the tube hits bottom of module and did you drill holes into it yet?

Yep, drilled holes in it according to directions for fuel return into bottom of module. Joe Mc , I have the same module as you and according to instructions there are 2 different modules.

If the draw tube is to sit flush at bottom of strainer I can't see it allowing any flex like the oem line did therefore the reason of making the 2 halves "fixed" to each other no? Wouldn't it make sense to get measurements of the module strainer sitting on bottom of tank then I'd have a measurement of what the draw straw needs to be?

Bill, I think your assumption would be correct and "then" the fitting of the straw to the module. See it's coming back to me bit by bit.

I think so too, I'll be my own guinea pig on this. And your previous question of cutting the bottom of the tube it appears it's supposed to be cut straight with scalloped notches at the bottom and not at a slant/angle.

OMG! I remember using a razor blade and cutting 4 little (like 1/16" deep) v-groves at the bottom of the tube now. Oh the mind is a terrible thing for the decrepit.

I'm really thinking the 2 barbs on top of aluminum part of straw = 1 supply and other is return dumps right back into the module from the top of the part. If one is just open, looking from under the aluminum part, then that's the deal.
