When's the last time you went to a drive-in movie? What was the feature?

The last time I went was to see the Valley Of The Dolls. That should give you an idea of how long ago it was.

I never cared for drive-ins because I couldn't hear the dialog over them squawky speakers.

back in 1994 ish. I say true lies when it came out at a drive in in Indianapolis area. Get this... I was in my 16 ft. box truck, and they let me in. I just had to park to one side, so I wouldn't block the view of others.

My best friend is the vet at the Buffalo NY city zoo. He said he just went to one and they kicked him out. His toyota truck has daytime running lights and he couldn't figure out how to get them to shut off with the truck running. He had to leave it run cause it was raining and he needed defrost and wipers. They said it was whiteing out the screen for others. He also told me you now tune to a particular FM radio station to hear the movie. Sure beats the old speakers.

I remember going to them as a kid but dont remember the movies. There used to be one just down the road from me. They eventually started showing soft porn... then later XXX... in the early 80's. Then they finally went under. The property still sits empty. And I wasnt' old enough to go watch the nasty stuff... but people around here still talk about it. Seems like alot of folks in their late 30's early 40's have stories about binoculars and how you could see the screen from this certain angle etc

I think Urban Cowboy was the last one I saw at a drive-in. There used to be a BIG one in Oak Ridge, TN, and another in Midtown, TN. Those were the ones I went to.

I saw Jurassic Park 3 at a drive in about 3 or 4 years back. I got in for free, as a former girlfriend worked there ;) The picture quality was so bad, I couldn't see much of anything, so I really didn't "see" the movie anyway. Guess I got my money's worth :-laf

I used to go to the drivein every weekend, sometimes both friday and saturday nights! Can't remember what the movies were, in fact I don't think I ever watched any of them anyway.

They used to make me park in the back row because I had a van. We used to have 2 drive-in's around where I live, one was summer, the other was open year round. They used to have these electric heaters you could rent and plug into the poles, so I put electric baseboard heat in the van complete with a thermostat.

The kids today need drive-in movies instead of hanging around the mall, but then again I have a 10 year old Daughter so the hell with drivie-ins, kids don't need them!

Just as long as you Doc, it was either Valley Of The Dolls or Help! with the Beatles.

Drive-Ins don't do to well in the cold north.

We have one in Franklin KY that is open Thurs through Sunday. Packed on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer!

Decent picture, updated radio freq. audio. Its nice I go there a few times a year.

Last movie I saw was probably about 2 months or so ago. It was Charlies Angel's 2. Didn't impress me that much.

It must have been at least 18 years ago when the Rocky Point Drive In was still open in Rocky Point, Long Island. What a great little dive in. I don't remember what the last picture was that we saw!:(

My Family ran 2 Drive Inns, when I was a wee lad In upstate New York. So I had Free passes. and we had a ball at the drive Inns. Friday Sat Sun. Anytime we could we were there! I had to be a gentleman since There was always someone keeping a eye my way! I would not trade those memories for anything!!

I only know of 1 still operating drive Inn in Georgia Thats In BlueRidge. Never been. But maybe I should. after all the folks dont live here!!:D

Nothing beats packing about 3 people and a bunch of beer in a car trunk just to save about 6 dollars. The beer is bice though. :D

last one was about 3 or 4 years ago. I saw one of the austin powers movies in Erie PA. Tuned to an FM radio station for that one. Haven't been back since.

There is a very nice one in Granbury, Texas - it is the Brazos drive-in. We have been several times in recent years, they use the FM system for sound and since it is not on a major highway it makes for a quiet and enjoyable movie. Nice grounds, clean concession stand, and they show current run movies.

In fact, they have an e-mail list where they send out the current week's showings. This weekend's movies are Freaky Friday and Pirates of the Carribean.

They said they SOLD OUT last weekend, they had a triple feature. It is a mighty popular place for families in these parts. $15 per carload. Take a family of 5 to the movie theater, and you can easily spend $50 - $75 for a SINGLE movie. Drive-ins rule...

Oo. Oo.
