I have a 2 month old '06 megacab 2500 diesel. When towing a recently acquired 10,000 lb 5th-wheel I get what feels like a driveline vibration under any pull at all. No vibration when the truck is operation alone. Currently in Little Rock. Any Ideas? Thanks, Mike

Not sure of the kingpin weight. The trailer is a 2002 Cedar Creek 33 ft. Book says is weighs 9850 lbs. It was was empty when I picked it up from the dealer a few days ago. Of course we are adding more weight. I vibrates anytime I am on the accelerator. More acceleation, more vibration at any speed. We didn't tow over about 65 mph. Thanks.

U-Joint

Sounds like a U-Joint. My truck did the samething and it was the rear U-Joint that was bad.

Good Luck

Well, it is now Jan '07 and the problem is finally fixed. I live in Homestead, FL and the dealer, Spitzer Crysler/Jeep, changed the mounting bracket (a shorter than stock bracket) for the center U-joint, raising the U-joint and making the driveshaft straighter when the 10,000 pound trailer is hitched. WaLa! No more vibration. The truck was always fine when running alone. Only had a shudder when taking off from a stop with the trailer hitched and a vibration at 56-64 mph. The dealer said that this is not a new problem with the longer chasis trucks and DM is well aware of it. This dealer was very up front and helpful.

Case closed, Mike
