My 04 has about a 20 degree difference in temp from the drivers side to the passengers side. I complained at my last service and the dealer said that was normal. My wife is NOT too happy now that it is hot and we are doing a bit of travelling.

Anyone else have the same exoerience?

I noticed that on my 05 and will be taking it to the dealer here

I had my truck in to the dealer yesterday and was discussing the AC. They said a big temp difference like that usually means it's low on Freon.

My wife NEVER has been happy with HER side of the A. C.

Nothing a ride in the back wouldn't cure. :D

I've never noticed a difference in temp, but I never use the A/C much. (I really need to try to keep my tongue in and stop slobbering on the outside of the door so much though)

Not only was did that check out OK, but I made them add more to it with no change.

Here is a pic taken with a high end meter.

There is a damper (door) that is repositioned according to the mix settings. It has been discussed before that this door begins to hang up with time and some of the outside air gets mixed with the AC on the passenger's side.

Do a search.

My 04 just started making a big thud noise from the ventilation system a few weeks ago and now I'm experiencing the warm temperature on the passenger side. It did not start until after 70,000 miles... :(

If it is the blend door then what is the fix? Mines doing the same thing but I have the climate controls. It fixes itself when I move the passenger side from cold to hot and back.

wow thats not good vent temps. My vent temps are 22-30 depending on humidity. I have had down to 19 at night. There is a 5 degree diff from driver to pass side.

22 to 30 ????? Have you used a thermometer? Anything below 32 is a freeze over and system usually won't work. I've never measured one below mid 30s and I measured a lot of them over the years.

I have been chasing this same problem for two years now. Dodge cant seem to fix it. I have a lawyer from DC contacting me now about a buyback on mine. I dont know that I will do it yet because it does not sound much different than a trade in deal.

Mt neighbor has a 05 and said his AC was FINE. BULL! I went to luch with him the other day and it wouldn't cool for crap. In fact when starting off from a stop the right side vents blew warm/hot air out same as mine does. He said OH it seems ok on LONG TRIPS. My wife works at a Caddy/Mazda dealer. Says the Mazda 3 whatever that is(She says its a BASIC MODEL)( I guess OUR TRUCKS are a BASIC model ALSO!) dosen't cool eaither unless LONG trips. Said it has too small of a condenser and a tiny evaporator. Said the Mazda engineers say OH make sure system is working correctly and if so thats as good as it gets. Says a lot of no pun HOT customers over that issue also. Penny and nickel bean counters is the problem.

my '03 would do the same , high temp passenger side , and would occasionaly freeze up after 4-5 hr drive. It started freezing up on 20 min trips so to the dealer we went two weeks ago. They added freon and it works like new with no freezing up and cold both sides. The service mgr says Dodge knows they have a prob as the fix isn't the same on every truck.

My 05 had this problem since day one, only had about half of the right amount of freon, now it will freeze you out of the truck in 98* weather. Check the freon level.

If you were measuing vent temps at 22 to 30 or 19 at night and measuring in CENTIGRADE then I might could understand ,but as you didn't state if CENTIGRADE I would assume you met FAHRENHEIT as that is what is most commonly used in this country and in this thread. I would have to assume your full of hooie or just GUESSED at your vent temps. Maybe running the vent system in Alaska in the winter? Are you by chance Canadian? If so I apologise.

The yadda yadda comment was sent to my computer before you could edit it. But thats ok. I will step up be the nice guy and edit the replys I posted since you did. But understand that I stand by the temp readings and extend the invitation for a ride in a cold truck. We are going to do the same A/C service for another TDR member here in town and he will be the next to post about a cold a/c.
