Driver side window off the regulator slots

My driver side window started just coming down a couple inches and I was out of town so I didn't mess with it. Took wife to mall and I stayed in truck, decided to lower window a little then push down on it to see what would happen. It fell into the very bottom of the door. I removed the door panel and finally got the glass back to the top then ran the regulator up under it and put the glass back in the grooves. Anyone have a good suggestion as to what to do to keep this from happening. bg
