Does anyone have the exact chrysler part # to cross to the one piece aluminum shaft to fit a 04,5 ddrw 4x4 auto.

iirc it was a direct bolt in with no modifications necessary. Are the ujoints lasting any longer in these?

Thanks for replys.

I would guess u-joint life isn't any better or even worse because of the angle and they are non-greasables. Just gets rid of the center support bearing and the problems it causes.

Thanks for the #'s.

Wonder how the aluminum and steel will be as far as seizing in yokes with all the calcium spray up here in the snow country?

Just installed mine this morning, 50mi on it so far. Seems smoother and i'm a lot happier not having all the 2-piece junk under there. This thing is beefy but VERY light. The u-joints aren't greaseable but i'll burn that bridge when i get there. So far i'm pretty happy with it.

Steve,

I honestly don't remember the part #. I threw the box away in the cardboard container at work, i could check tomorrow and see if it's on the box. I ordered it from Rich at Doghouse Diesel Performance and had it overnight shipped. Rich was very helpful and answered a ton of my questions. For our trucks you HAVE to shorten them. I took mine to a driveline shop and they were able to measure, shorten, and re-balance it the same day. After that it was bolt on and down the road. The old crap takes longer to get off. All in all i'm very happy with it and not having to replace another center bearing was reason enough. Remember these things come with brand new u-joints so you don't have to worry about those. All in all i think i paid about $700. The quote to have one made was around $750. If you're interested just give Rich a call or check out the website, lots of good info.
