Driving 65mph - under 5 lbs boost max - stinks!

Well had one of the infamous hoses come loose. Of course it couldn't be the "easy" one to get to, its the one off the turbo. With my Ram Air stuff in there its a tad bit difficult to reach.



Let me tell you tho, driving down the highway, floored only nets 5lbs boost... . truely sucks Not to mention its causing my transmission to freak out, because of how much throttle I gotta give it to get going so its shifting really late.



Amazing what one lil hose "slipped" off will do huh?



Also while under the hood today (freezing my rear off ) I noticed I lost one of my exhaust bolts between the elbow and downpipe.

If you had some of those blue silicone hoses, you'd be able to get up to 20psi of boost before it looses pressure, and it would never 'slip' off.

Kinda-like a slow ride in for warranty-work after pulling a few mods'and trying not to set any codes!

It really sucks!Then again it makes you happy when you get it back to normal!

Are you aware of any made for our trucks? All ears, blue hoses would look pretty cool anyhow.

I was comming back from the lake this summer puling 18,640 ( 5th wheel and boat--65 ft in all) and the hose came off about 5 miles from my house. I pulled it to the side of the road and put the hose back on. I now check all the hoses at every oil change.

Bolts!

Yup, my exhaust manifold bolts got loose this summer too. The ones toward the rear were the worst. Had the guys put on the bolt clamps from the recall, and it should not happen again.

Blue hose deal sounds good. Whomever opened that can of worms had better be ready to come forward with some "where and how much" information, eh?!

Put some on mine a couple yrs ago. Purchased from the local big rig service center. I think they were about 40 bucks a-piece; purchased two. One for turbo outlet to intercooler intake tube; and one for intercooler output tube to intake. Haven't lost seal once since putting them on. I purchased spring loaded constant pressure clamps at the same time. Did blow the intake gasket though -- know your weakest link. Re-torque your intake manifold bolts once in a-while. Also; having a prime-loc puts a fair amount of strain on those intake manifold bolts. Re-torque regularly (every oil change at-least) if you have a prime-loc. P. s. I was making 40 lbs of boost at the time. Now I peak at 34 (lowered my fueling rate).



The don't collapse (they're thicker and wire reinforced in addition to being stickier) when a momentary vacuum situation exists; which I suspect is when the flimsy rubber ones loose seal.



If anyone knows where to get a 3 to 4" adapter tube (4" is what goes into the intercooler) made of this material let us know!
