Any Mack engine guys?

I was driving in about 10 inches of snow last week before I got stuck. My Michelin LTX M/S just didn't get enough bite to keep me going. I would surmise that they are ok for plowed roads but for anything deeper it would probably be more prudent to go to a dedicated M&S tire.

That said, as I washed the salt and sand off the truck, I noticed that I took off the paint on the lower 3/4 of my front differential that was in the snow.

Am curious 1) Should I repaint it? And if so where do I get the paint or will any ol rustoleum do? 2) I just had the fluid changed. Would there have been any risk of water contamination driving through the snow?

Appreciate any input.

Yeah really, that's some abbrasive snow. I"ve done trips though some heavy snow before and my paint is still in place. . Granted the under carrage was white. :)

Yes, the stock tires SUCK in snow.

What's funny about that is, when I changed the gear oil on my '02 the first time I could rub the pain off down to bare metal with my fingers. It was like a powder.

Any good paint should do it.
