Ok the other night was down town crusieing around I found a durasmack that wanted to play we went to a remote location to race. Well a long story short I destroyed him :) . Well the bad news after that my truck was idleing really rough, the truck was shakeing. I did not drive it home, I had it towed.

the symtoms are a moderate amount of white smoke and a really rough idle. :{ The mods that I was running were TST 2x2, power pup on Extreme and TS ramifier barly on. OH and 150 shot of NOS. and ideas would be helpfull. before I start ripping into it. Thanks

COULD BE HEAD GASKET, INJECTOR, OR VALVE, DEFINITELY SOUNDS BAD, POST BACK WITH WHAT YOU COME UP WITH, ONE TIME MY TST MESSED UP AND I HAD A FUNNY IDLE AND LOTS OF WHITE SMOKE, MAYBE ITS SOMETHING EASY :{

NO codes. Usually my turbo go's and that was good to. And also that day I had checked my relief valve and that was leaking a little bit at idle.

It's possible that the relief valve is totally toast and the cp3 is not making enough fuel pressure at idle to atomize the fuel. Have you ran the truck since then? Does the white smoke smell like raw diesel?

Edit: oh yeh, have you checked the oil to see if there is any fuel in it?

The smoke does not smell to bad, but the coolant and oil are a little low. So this might be a head gasket. The oil it self looks pretty good. OH and the truck really needs somke cranking to start it.

If there is no coolant in the oil, or vise versa, I am betting it's one of two things. Either injectors or the relief valve has totally let go. The reason for the long crank time is probably because the fuel system is not building pressure.

Its hard to when all you see anymore are people dropping valve seats left and right.

I can say one thing though If I lose a motor this year while pulling or whatever..... it has served me well and brought many smiles to my face!

Good thing I have some spares!! :-laf

PS I can't wait to get mine back into running order... I spent another 5 hours working on it today.

How do you think I felt when someone appraoched me at our last dyno event and said they saw something fly out the exhaust pipe on one of my runs? :--) We think it might just have been a piece of gravel that got in the flex pipe from them dragging it thru the lot while switching from truck to truck. :D However, until I get mine figured out for sure, that thought is still in the back of my mind.

dont get me wrong here and i hope it is something small & cheap but did i read it right that you had three different boxs stacked plus nos?????

This may sound dumb but here we go anyway. Why do these things kill the valve seats when you crank them up ? Wich one ,intake or exaust?

Sounds alot like my brother's 04. 5 after his dropped a valve. #6 cylinder. Pretty much welded itself to the piston & destroyed the block and the head. And turbo. Truck was bone stock. Dodge honored the warranty, but took 1 month plus to get it up and running.

how many have you seen?

just curious

There are probably 10 or more I have seen here on TDR and some locally that have done the same thing.

You also hear stuff from other sources that echo what we hear on here...

guess my origonal question was not worth your time sick ram sorry but all i am trying to find out is if the majority of people having these kind of problems are running multiple boxes drag, racing ect. if so i wont worry to much if not i will not get my juice turned up to hot. im not raging on people who crank em up that high to each his own i just like my motor running. again good luck with the truck... also you dont say the year in your sig. .
