"also you dont say the year in your sig. . "

Sure he does. :D The sig is only on the first post for every page. If you go to the first post he made it says he has an 05. :D

Dealer called and said there was a dead cylinder, says he has to pull the head to find out for sure. And he wants 600 bones to do it. this does not look good!!!! I guess I better start looking for a new engine.

Sorry to hear. I am guessing we can email pics that will look similair. no valve seat in head, piston and head pummeled to **** and the turbo is junk.

Best of luck getting it back together. Not going to be cheap. Just went through this. :(

OK if I had a droped valve seat dont you think that should trash my turbo? Because that was the first thing I had checked, And the turbo was fine the hot side was all good no damage. The dealer is ripping the head off today. I talked to the tech that was working on it and he said he could tell that it was a dead cylinder just by listening to it, wish I had those skills. So I really dont know what is wrong with it until they take the head off.

I would advise in the future that if you mod that you learn how to work on your own engine.

You would probably save alot of money.

Well for your information I am a diesel tech, and I do know how do work on my own truck. I have done every mod on it myself. It is that I broke down 600 miles from home and do not have time to an R/R an engine. I dont really care hoe much it costs to fix it. I am just more interested in how and why this happend and if there is something to do to prevent this from happening.

Yea I guess he knows everything. Well talked to the dealer today and as he is takeing the head off he found a bent push tube on the intake on #5 ,but has not quiet got the head off yet. He said he would have it off in the morning.

this site just gets worse and worse, everyone assumes and knows everything, someone has a question or a problem and they get slammed not helped, #@$%!

Back on subject:

Sick Ram,

In all seriousness if you have a bent push tube then your motor is in my opinion been hurt seriously. Sounds like a valve has gone rogue at some point of course probably from the seat falling etc.

Keep us posted. Hopefully it can be rebuilt or something to that effect.

well day three and the dealer is still takeing the head off, come on that takes maybe a day if your paid hourly. #@$%!

OK, well I am going to go out on a limb here. This is not the first failure you have had to this engine is it? I read thru some of your posts and you mentioned about gernading a charger and blowing holes in the compressor housing and D/C covering it under warranty?? Theres a good chance when they "fixed" the blown charger that there was shrapnel from the compressor in the innercooler that they left behind. This time it was blown out and injested into the engine when you were racing it this past time.
