I tagged onto another post re: problems with the fuel tank and asked a question. Did not get a response so I will start a new thread and hope for an answer. Has anyone reading this dropped their tank? I looked underneath and the straps do not look difficult but the fuel lines are hidden from view and I am not sure about what needs to be done to get to them and separate the lines. As this would be an on the ground removal for me, it would be helpful to know what tools or help I might need.
Also, I mentioned I am getting a gurgling sound from the tank and then the pump keeps running instead of pressurizing and shutting off before starting. The truck is still running without issues but I suspect it is on borrowed time. So, is it a cleaning situation as mentioned in the other post or replacement? Or both? I have 127K on the truck. I can get a pump locally that has a lifetime warranty. Thanks for any advice I can get. Truck has had zero problems other than a slight trans/driveline howl after shifting to second when cold, so I don't mind spending money on it.
