... ... Hoot has gotten banned from different sites.

Hoot did pop head gaskets, have falty injectors and scramble the trans. What he has not said was that he ran PROPANE with programmers and toasted those parts himself.

... ..... I won't say anything about Mack here. I'll go over to the Diesel Place and do my bidding.

... ..... FYI, first gen Duramax injectors were soft. That changed in 03, about the same time the 555 came out. . . you know both truck run Bosch injectors.

Burner, at least be somewhat accurate. I said earlier I was not going to continue this tirade to the mods... go back and read. Than please get yourself a nice hot cup of shut the f up. Thanks

But since you turned the key and my batteries are charged, here goes. .

No I didn't have injectors go out in my Dmax but than again I only had 72,000 miles on her. Injectors not only are a problem with the 01 and 02's but also with the LLY's. You want to know more you need to talk to people that work on them. . like Eric Merchant (DmaxAllitec). Now while you are at it, since he is the man that replaced my headgaskets, ask him what his theory is on why they went.

When I first got the Duramax, brand new in 2001 it came delivered with a defueling issue. Not uncommon for the first gen Dmaxes. It would throw overboost codes. I could not pull anything with it. It would fall on it's face as soon as I started into a hill. Bone stock

Dealer could not find a problem but cleared the codes multiple times for me

I wanted more power so I installed propane injection. Powershot 2000. Nice system, worked great. Proportionally followed injection level with turbo boost level. Gave me around 70 hp. Nothing outrageous.

The defueling was now worse. Now it would happen unloaded in situations where I layed on the power at highway speeds. She would simply shut down if I did not lay off the throttle. In a few seconds power would return.

As far as the Allison is concerned, with propane, if I layed on it going up a med grade hill in overdrive I could limp it at will. The first time it did that I thought I creamed the transmission. This is with only propane. Significantly LESS than 100 hp addtl power.

Now I had a truck with an engine that can't handle stock power, can't handle 70-80 addon power and a trans that limps when I romp on it.

Then I get a 90hp Edge Juice... . this is not the Hot Juice... standard Juice.

That box was awesome. It cured the defueling problem that GM could or would not fix and it really did a nice job with the Allison, helping it handle the power. Unfortunately, and naturally, the limps could be still had at will.

So now I was running a 90hp Juice AND propane injection. I can honestly say that besides the Allison limp always hovering over me, the truck was really running nice. I did not dyno the truck but I estimate the max avail was probably about 100-110 hp or so based on others experiences with similar setups. I don't believe the 90 Juice would dyno 90 and whne you add lp you loose bigtime from it's stand alone output. I know one truck in particular that only got 20 hp out of lp on the dyno when he stacked it.

One time I demonstrated to a friend of mine just how fast my truck was. I had the Juice on 5 and turned on the lp. The truck screamed! I was impresses. I did not run the both normally and as a matter of fact, that was the only time I did it. That was in the fall of of 02-03. That coming winter... truck had 65,000 or so miles on it, it started puking coolant. Long story short, I had the head gaskets replaced, the injector sleeves re-sealed and the hard injector lines going to the injectors replaced due to corrosion.

Now you have to remember, I was not the power king by any means whatsoever. There were a slew of guys slapping on all of the latest and greatest boxes... AND RUNNING PROPANE ON THE DYNO! with 500 hp at the rear wheels. I wasn't even close to those numbers. The point I make here is I truly believe my truck was going to loose a head gasket. The extra power just helped out. Read thedieselplace. There are documented puking coolant threads. I am in no way saying there is a serious head gasket issue with the Dmax as I do not believe there is but what I am saying is the head gasket failure I had was a recurring one among a number of 01-02 trucks over time. This was not a catastrophic gasket failure. You could hardly see where the leakage occurred. I have pics of it in my signature link.

What I have found out is that they have been having some gaskets go in this manner but not an unusually high number. I was one and the power adders possibly did make it happen sooner. Who knows. How do you explain everybody elses success with so much more power?

OK move on... .

Burner, you say I have been banned from other sites. hdmax says I have been banned from 6 sites.

Of the ones hdmax mentioned I am currently a legitamately regestered member of half of those. I am a member of pickuptruck.com, TDR, DTR. I left GM-Diesel.com on my own and never got threatened with banning there.

I am forever banned from the former Ford-Diesel.com now the dieselstopped.com because I was relentless and did not belong there.

I am a trouble maker in that I have strong opinions and go onto sites I don't belong. It was fun while it lasted.

This last episode on thedieselplace was pretty much me getting bored with all of it and not keeping my mouth shut. I tell it like I see it. .

I have to mention why I have turned so much against MACKIN. When I traded my Dmax for my current Dodge I began posting in the Dodge portion of thedieselplace, I though I was being pretty decent with my evaluations and comparisons of my new truck compared to my old one. I was building DYI articles on my new truck like I did with the Dmax that so many members thanked me for over the years. At this point I no longer was a moderator at the dieselplace. I stepped down as moderator 100% on my own with no one asking me to. I felt that with my strong opinions I was not a good canidate to continue as a mod. I wanted to be free to express my beliefs without the restrictions of being a moderator... you know. . moderators should act civil and treat people with respect. It reflects on the website.

What happened with MAC and me started when, while posting about my new Dodge, he, as moderator came into the Dodge forum resonding to my DYI articles and other posts with DODGE JUNK and the classic "junk wrapped around the Cummins" statements. From a regular member on thedieseleplace I would expect that type of comment but from a moderator and an administrator of a prominant site like that to come in tear me the truck down just ****** me off. Hey it happens. Thats' when I deleted all of my DYI posts. Sorry but people do get under you skin once in a while and I can tell you back then MAC was doing it.

I don't feel my banning this time was justified by any means. There was no real reason given.

With that said, I don't care either and am not bitter about it. They did not need someone who was such a pro Dmax guy running around saying bad things about it. It just was better to let me go.

It would have been cool though if Nick or Mac would have just said, listen Mike, this isn't working out. Never did I ever get such a request.

I think thedieselplace deserves better from a moderator standpoint. Just watching MAC running around here and back there defending himself is entertainment in itself. Kinda tells you something.

Me a little weird? Yea I'd say. But that's me.

Over and out on the subject please.

I'm going to close this thread, due to the name calling and flaming of members. It has gone too far.
