How hard is it to convert a 3rd gen from a DRW to a SRW. Just knock the duals and the spacer off the front, and the bed off the back? or is the rear axle track different?

OK here are my reasons

1. More used DRW QC LWB trucks to choose from

2. Higher door sticker GVWR (only usefull because of #3)

3. Going to buy 19. 5 SRW with 265 70-19. 5 tire anway

4. Most DRW are 4. 10 (with above tires turns to 3. 77)

5. Bed is toast anyway to make way for Alum flat bed and Alum Boxes

Thanks in Advance!

The rear wheel sticks out a little. Not bad and not worth changing the rear axel. In fact with a new bed and some flairs at each corner its not noticeable. There was a thread with photos on DTR the last few days about such.

The rear axle is wider on a DRW , havent noticed a Dodge with that conversion . I have seen an F-350 4WD DRW converted with bed swap and all. It was noticeable , most folks who arent into trucks may not notice, but it definitely got my attention.

Looked odd , my $. 02.

The overall difference is ~3 inches wider with the dually axle. I've gone the other way, conveting a 2500 into a dually. I'm currently running stock SRWs until I can find a set of dually lugnuts. You can notice the difference, but it's not that bad... On the front, you'll just need to knock off the adapter/extender.
