All the trucks are running great we now have four dodge trucks running this 2-2001,2003,2004 two fords both 7. 3 motors. two vw's and one ford with a 5. 9 cummins. one GM truck 2007 Duramax.

Just sold my two centrifuges to a company here in town they will be getting it to make there own fuel in the next two weeks they wanted my set up because it works well and I wanted to sell it, want to try a new set up and need the money to build it the last two weekends I have centrifuged four totes of oil and will try to do two more in the next week then will be down for 4 to 6 weeks.

centrifuge

Hello to all

WOW do things dhange fast, first of all all the trucks and cars are running great on the vegetable oil fuel.

The biggest change is that I sold my two centrifuges to a company that will be making thier own fuel I have been working with them to get my old system

running and this will be done in a week.

I have started building my new centrifuges yes more than before many more

they will be above two totes on a frame work thats 4. 5 feet off the ground.

the oil will flow down to the totes one will be for fuel with gear pumps final filtering water blocks new style heater for the tote (winter time use) the other tote will be a storage tote this will be hooked up to the others I have on racks also the dirty oil totes I have will be in the air also on racks this will give me more room on the floor for pre filtering the oil this should be done in the next few weeks if all goes good.

I will be posting new pictures as things start coming together

Cool stuff Craig. Sold some veggie fuel to a furd driver, a duramax driver and another CTD driver. Also my 6. 7 runs great on this fuel anywhere between B-20 and B-50. It smells weirder than before maybe because of the particulate filter? Thanks for the update!

Nice! Are those gear pumps loud? The first one I got when i went by the DSE manual, the gear pump hurt your ears. It was a Tuthill it think.

Ken

pumps and stuff

Hello Ken

Yes they are loud but the way they are hooked up it takes only 15 min to mix the stuff together one for mixing and one for pumping the fuel to the truck, the first pump has a bypass around the filter so it will mix faster once its mixed then switch it to filter and the flow is still good thru the filter then the other pump can be turned on and fuel up the trucks both pumps have bypass in them so you can dead head them with out any damage.

its the same pump as the tuthill just no brand name on them and the price is better 170 each with shipping off of ebay.

working on the power supply this weekend need to run 220 down the wall for the centrifuge motor

does the fun ever end.

WHat filters are you running the finished fuel through? If you want never ending fun, get a 6. 7... pulls like a diesel locomotive, but what is that CEL on for again!!!??

centrifuge update

Hello to all

I got the tachometer working on the centrifuge tonight needed to get it set up to tell if I am over running the unit, the biggest problem is with the bearings I used they are only good to 5000 rpm and the shaft could be turned to over 14000 rpm if the motor got switched to 240 hertz, right now it set at 59. 8 hertz and the tachometer is reading 3479 rpms. this is about what I was looking for

The motor would not spin for long at the 7000 rpms long the windings would melt and it would die very fast. I never want to see this.

the motor runs very smooth at 1739 rpms I have it set to take 60 sec to reach top speed soft starting is so nice no big inrush of power and no torque issues to deal with.

thanks for reading

more pictures to be posted this weekend

hello to all

heres a picture of the unit it should be done sunday

its been cool here 21 degrees but with a ton of snow we did have below 0 already and the trucks worked just fine

On the 2001 I replaced both batterys summer heat took them out the one on the right side next to the turbo was junk

this thanksgiving we had a cold snap and I ended up putting new batterys in the 2004 the right side battery was junk

the turbo heat must take its toll on things

enjoy the pictures

pictures of centrifuge

hello to all

the new centrifuge needs only a discharge hose and a hose to the tote to test all of this in in the back seat of my truck so some time in the next few days i will be testing this

here are the pictures the plumbing on the pump to the heaters and back turned out great not much wasted stainless steel tubing maybe 3 feet not bad for starting out with 40 feet.

enjoy the pictures

centrifuge

Hello to all and Merry Christmas

The centrifuge is running it needs a little tuning but it does run,

Will be adding another gear pump to the setup its just not running right trying to pump thru the heaters like its set up but running four centrifuges thru one pump and the other four off of a different pump should work just fine.

Ran it last Saturday started at 10 am and stoped at 12. 15 in the tote was 200 gallons of clean oil this is running it with six of the eight centrifuges

Thats a little over 1. 45 gallons per min thru six centrifuges . 241 gallons per unit Tthis is half of what it should be running per centrifuge so it might be able to clean a tote of oil in one and one half hr or less once the next pump and bowls are installed

here are the pictures of the unit

will be adding steps up to the deck this should be done by the first of the year

enjoy the pictures
