The 3rd gen track bar converson on my former '01 made a drastic difference. Further modifcation of the steering on that truck ended up not being necessary afterward.

Absolutly! Only difference is I run a DSS and a DT trackbar because it is adjustable so I can center my axle being it has a leveling kit.

Being the front end is solid it makes that crappy bushing in the steering coloumn waaaay more pronounce and I gotta get that kit and just replace it already.

I did both, but would also recommend getting an adjustable track bar if you have a leveling kit. My axles are not centered since mine is not adjustable. My trucks steering is noticeably better though with the DSS and the 3rd gen track bar.

I agree the DSS and 3rd gen bar are great. To be honest, in my opinion, the bar will help IF you have a bad bar to begin with. The track bar is notorious for causing a sloppy front end and I believe it is better to upgrade to the 3rd gen. . but... . Is you old track bar bad? Others have replaced bad stock bars with another stock bar and fixed a sloppy front end problem. Keep in mind any loose part in that front end will contribute to sloppy steering. Sometimes determining what is bad is difficult and can amount to throwing parts at it... thats what I did.

So... describe what is wrong with your steering and why you think the track bar is bad. The DSS helps protect the steering box but if your steering box is bad you should start by replacing it first (the steering box) and use the DSS to protect it (steering box). I put on the PSC 3 turn box and DSS and love the "one finger" steering.

My steering is now GREAT. It can be fixed!

BINGO ... With a 2" leveling kit the axle is shifted to the drivers side . 75" A fixed length bar cannot compensate for th erelief of the extra height.

track bar is def bad... . i think it will be my 5th one... . truck also darts from side to side... going around corners i end up oversteering and have to compensate every time ... i am very used to it at this point but ti NEEDS to be fixed

Has anyone added the DSS and 3rd gen track bar set up with a snow plow mount? I would like to do this also but I have a Fisher snow plow with the minute mount on my truck and from the install pictures on his web site I'm not sure it will work. Any ideas?

I have the 2" levelers and had also gone thru 3 or 4 track bars (3 Moog units after the stock one went) and finally went with the 3rd gen adj & DSS. Now it's like "what wander, I don't have no stinking wander". :D And, after 9 years & 167k miles the front diff is finally centered.

Worth every penny.

I have the Thuren track bar and the DSS and they helped alot, then when I added the 97-98 tie rods and linkage the truck was tighter than the 06 the wife had.

I've got a Fisher minute mount on my 96 with the DSS and original type track bar. I'm not sure if the 3rd gen track bar setup will fit along the frame rails with how the fisher bolts in place. Would like to know from someone who has done it. Tony
