HI Guys; Had a check engine lite come on my 01 2500 for the first time ever. I have been very negligent in keeping up with trouble codes since I'm older and very computer illiterate. I borrowed a scanner to find out what codes had been recorded . A p1688M AND 1688p were recorded. I have a full shop manual and find that it shows an internal fuel injection pump controller failure. When the lite came on I was pulling my 5er home in heavy rain. Lost some power for a few seconds and then was able to pull over to check things out. All seemed to be okay so I got it home. After a few on off cycles the check engine lite went off and did not come on again. Did the scan and found the codes and erased them because I thought that maybe It was just a glitch. I forgot to tell you that I bought a used Edge
EZ programmer in Pahrump at May Madness in May and installed it. Everything has been fine until the check engine lite. Then today when getting lumber at Home depot with the engine running the engine raced and then died. I got some help and was able to disconnect the EZ and got it home without incident. I need your ideas. I'll call Edge to see if they have a thought. Thanks ,Brett
