Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition Red Rocket moved to Washington

Competition New Street Twins

I noticed that on DTT's site they have a new product to offer... .

Here's the stats:

-SFI approved 29. 1 Spec. with its own serial #

-Exclusive, proprietary design - manufactured by a high-end drag racing company (Reactor Products) that has been building flexplates for 20-years.

-Removable ring gear

-Precision CNC machined from solid Billet Aluminium the DTT/ REACTOR flex plate provides MINIMUM rotating mass while still offering MAXIMUM strength.

-Price point is competitive compared to other offerings

The flexplate has already been SFI approved and has been in use since 10/03.

Stupid question here.

The pullers are turning wayyyy more rpm than any dragracer Kondolay has seen- with large freakin steel flywheels, and monster clutches hanging on them.

And you guys are worried about engine harmonics, or the crank bearing not being strong enough?

As far as you out revving me , how about 8000rpms through the traps.

You had better get Bill again and have him confirm the 8000 rpms out of your Cummins.

Or is that your race car?

If you get those two things mixed up, how can you get anything else right?:D

Take that back to Bill with a smiley attached. :{

Gene,

You said you out rev our race car and it consistantly revs over 8000 thru the traps, it has seen 13 000 when Dad's brake pedal broke off at top end of the track. So he pulled the car into 1st gear then hit the trans brake to avoid go off a cliff at the top end, which broke the crank in 3 pieces.

Yea, its called gear clash and tire slippage.

Let me make this clear.

WE DON'T CARE ABOUT AN 8000 RPM BBC TUPPERWARE RACE CAR.

THIS IS A DIESEL BOARD.

TELL ME ABOUT HOW MANY RPMS THROUGH THE TRAPS ON YOUR TRUCK, THE DIESEL, THE CUMMINS, THE RATTLER, THE SMOKER.

Did you hear that?

Sheesh!:D

I've deleted a number of posts on this thread from other vendors than DTT, users of those products, and responses to those posts that wouldn't make sense with them gone. Being that this is an auto transmission related component the guidelines as they relate to auto transmission posts will apply here as well. Please review those guidelines at https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72098 if you aren't familiar with them.

BOOM... ..... Nothing like watching someone scatter a motor!

Keith, in the SE there are trees at the end, more than one person has made it into them... . 1/8th mile stuff!

While at first glance this statement may seem relevant to some, I'd caution that keeping ourselves enclosed in the diesel truck-only community does little for growth and innovation... Heck, we wouldn't even run slicks if a car hadn't done it first.

Actually it is relevant when referring to the engine. I don't see where Sleddy is persuading others to refrain from mixing it up with the SI community.

But I do agree with us getting out in front of the SI crowd and advertising our power and track prowess. It has to be treated with kid gloves though. We hope to keep finding classes in the NHRA and IHRA that will allow us to run with them. I know that sounds detrimental to the DHRA mission, but it isn't. We don't expect everyone to race with us, but NHRA/IHRA races act as a great secondary place to run to fill in between the DHRA races. Or the other way around, it fits different types of priorities.

Rhonda and Eric as simple as Stefan, say it ain't so!

My point was very clear to the most casual observer.

The discussin was about Diesel harmonics and why Stefan thinks you need a very light flexplate.

I said, I didn't think it was much of a problem as the standard flywheel and dual disc pulling clutch assembly is much heavier by maybe 50+ pounds.

And pullers are turning many more rpms than Stefans race Diesel truck.

Then he switches lanes, and says he bets we aren't turning 8000 rpm like his race car... ...

Forget it, no sense in wasteing anymore time with automatic or dragracers!!!!!!

Just let us know when the first one fails.

Geez McBride... . did you get one of those fancy dictionaries for Christmas or what? Or do you have someone writing these speeches for you??

I agree w/ Ernie and Shed Putter. Although, we're struggling w/ our infant steps remember, we didn’t learn to walk w/o paticnce. There’s many NHRA organized events accessible for us to participate in until the DRAH gets off the ground.
