Can someone explain to me what the master kit is for the DTT transmissions? Can someone also tell me what the main diffreence between the 91% and the 93% TC thanks. any info on Bill's smart controller also would be good.

Better Yet !!

attend Bill Kondolays Transmission seminar in Kerrville Tx this Sunday morning :D

It will be worth the drive ;)

Currently, Bill is on his way to Texas. So I would advise you to call his shop 1-866-504-4002 and talk to either Darren or Vinnie.

I have Bill's 89% Convertor,my Dad has the 91%,I honestly like the 89 much better,Id never buy the 93,unless it was drag race only truck,i have over 400hp,the 89 doesnt seem to be any different than the 91,once out of the hole,bu it sure is quicker, and doesnt stall as much when going into gear. If you are getting 4. 10's,I would get the 89,like i have, its a nice combo, feels the same as Dad's 3. 55/91%,but much quicker out of the hole, less bogging and low speed smoke.

Bill can best explain what is the difference in the convertors and what is in the master kit.

Here's a quick rundown though:

The master kit is basically an Overhaul kit, clutches and steels, plus several other updates DTT has developed to drastically improve the performance of the stock automatic.

Pretty much enough stuff to do a rebuild on your transmission.

the 91 spools the turbo up faster than the 93 , the 89 is even faster .

snowman , you're over 400 hp and its not a drag truck :p ... .

i have the 93 , there is a bit of turbo lag , the piers superturbo is supposed to cure it pretty much , haven't had one yet to try on mine .

like fred says the master kit is about 75% of the parts to do a full rebuild . replaces everything a truck wit habout 75k miles would need , unless you smoked your trans bad .

the smart controller is DTT's controller for use with an exhaust brake .

Mopar muscle,I never said it wasnt a drag truck,I just like to know its there. I need to 89% convertor, since my truck works for a living, pushing a plow, in the winter,on occasion, the 91,and 93 are too tight for that,as you already know. I would like to run it at the track,if i ever get it finished. My gut tells me its an easy low 15 second truck.

more is better

The reason for the 5-clutch pack upgrade is it increases the surface area of the direct clutch pack(3rd gear) thus increasing the load capacity of that clutch. The factory installs 4. HTH
