Hopefully you guys can help me out. I am loooking for a new passenger side dually fender for a 99' 3500. I had a little mishap and now have a huge crack down the top of it. My borther-in-law has a auto body shop, but even at his price $1065. 00 from his supplier it still seemed high. Thought we would be able to find it somewhere cheaper. Any ideas... ..... ?

Hang on I am searchin' a locator now ... ... ...

[edit ... this thing is creeping sllloooow]

The server keeps returning a time out (My buddy works for Progressive and He has a TON of the old outdated parts #'s and Prices just for giggles on his remote system at home) Anyways I Showed 788. 00 for a NEW not nessecarily OEM fender for the Duallie . I can get the updated Specs Tomorrow while he is in the office.

ToolMan... ... ... that would be great. is there usually any problem with the part not being OEM..... Like QC issues? Or not as good?

Jason

in 99. 94% of the cases the aftermarket body panels are exact duplicates of the oem's as the molds for those particular pices have been sold and or copied because the oem panels have allready been produced at the factory by the tens of millions and stored away. The reason molds and dyes are sold off is mainly because a newer version of the model vehicle will be coming out .

The ONLY thing aftermarket may be lacking is auto glass. Oem glass IS thicker glass on most occaisions.

I will have him give me a shout when he gets in to check for ya.

A friend of mine got one from a salvage yard one time. They said it was a take-off, but the bolt holes didn't line up. Took some cussing to get it on.

GTX - Thanks for the link to that site.

ShovelHead - Checked here locally and everyone wants to sell the whole bed and fenders together and will not part them out.

So far Arrowcraft is looking real good right now.

O.K From The national Insurance labor and parts law book

1065 for panel itself

2. 0 hrs to install

2. 4 hrs paint

1. 0 hr for clear

60. 00 for paint and material

Hourly Labor range 44. 50 to 50. 00

The Arrowcraft's have been known thru the insurance industry to have some fitment issues but are minor. ALSO check local laws regarding aftermarket material as the Arrowcraft's might be constructed using a thinner material.

Thanks ToolMan... ... ... ... Kind of worries me about the Arrowcraft possible being thinner material.

Does anyone know of individuals who have used arrowcrafts fenders?

Jason

J, Let me go back a sec. When the Insurance qc people write their footnotes you have to read into it a lil deeper. I shoulda gave the rest. Yes fitment issues are still withstanding, however when I said

"ALSO check local laws regarding aftermarket material as the Arrowcraft's might be constructed using a thinner material"

That can mean two things. 1 being either the material itself is different than oem. 2 OR the same material is used only less of it (I. E Two different guages of sheet metal same stuff ... ... . only thinner)

Hope this helps.

dually fender

Jason I spoke to arrowcraft they said thay would not sell to anyone with a dually as they are not the same fit I will be at body shop tomorrow I will ask them if the one thay took of my truck is repairable if so i will let you have for shipping

rx7pat.....

That would be great. So the fenders Arrowcraft sells, is it something new for them? Did they say why they would not fit? I see in your signature you have a 95', that fender will fit a 99'?

Thanks again,

Jason

Jason. .

There is a very close friend of mine who specializes in Mopar used parts at his salvage yard and he has a complete bed sitting for a dually. I have just gotten off the phone with him and he has told me if you need it, he will split the bed and sell the fender. Its a Driftwood colored bed and he will take $500 for the fender. If you are interested drop me a note and I'll send the number to you so you can make arrangements. Its is located here in Central PA. If you do not wish to ship it and would rather meet midway between your place and here I could assist you in that on most any weekend... ... ... ..... Andy

Hammer...........

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. Been away from the house for a while and pretty busy. I am still waiting on the other parties insurance company. So I am in no hurry. Not sure how long your friend will have that part. Not sure if I have seen a driftwood truck before? Thanks for the offer on the shipping or rather carrying it part way for me. Could you ask your friend or maybe you already have, on what he thinks the freight cost would be? My zip is 70611. I had my brother-in-law tell me UPS would not ship body parts, dead or alive!!! Sorry couldn't resist that, but you get what I am saying. Not sure how they would know what is in the box.

OK guys.............

Can we revisit this subject? I am know in the position to purchase replacement dually fender. (Got the insurance money now. ) I know a few of you guys had or knew someone who had a fender they were willing to part with. Again it would be for a White 99' 3500. The passenger side fender. Please let me know if they are still available.
