I was almost inspired yesterday to start a General Rant Thread... after truck washed, got on Interstate to head to the house when this goober driving a semi dump truck pulls on the highway empty except trailer had bunch of rainwater leaving a slurry spray of liquid road base on the road an cars... I saw it immediately checked all clear, changed lanes and slowed down. He sprayed countless cars as he zoomed 75+mph down the road. Fortunately, I had a little on the grill guard and front, but avoided getting the whole truck coated.

I could pretty much fill a rant thread just on local dump trucks and butthead drivers.

Cheers, Ron

Yes, but did he have mudflaps? :)

It's not funny but a lot of these Julio Express dumps down here won't bother with them. Had a dump throw a good-sized piece of gravel into my car one time, damaging the hood and the roof.

They drive around here with a sign "Not responsible for windshield damage "

Doesn't matter what they have a sign saying. If the State requires mud flaps, they ought to have them. And if the State does require them, you can take them to small claims and prevail. You'll need witnesses and photo evidence

Most jursdictions do require mud flaps, if they don't have them, it's usually because the Cops are too busy staking out the Donut Shops for escaped felons to cite them for it

Agreed!!! Spend some time in central NC if you want a treat... I think we have the worst most inconsiderate drivers in the nation, then there are the passerbys on I85/I40 which is 2 mi from my house.

So Ron

Yep, all legal with mudflaps... slurry was seeping under the tailgate right onto the road and all the folks he was passing. Dump trucks are a necessary evil... a conscientious driver would have been aware of the rainwater and dumped it before heading into traffic.

Cheers, Ron
