2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission dually to single wheel

I am sick of buying six 315/75/16 bfg at. I was just wondering how big of a pan it would be to convert. I was thinking a new bed, but I don't know about the rear end I have 4:10. Please help

the dually fenders should come off and you would just have to fix a few holes. Have to have a new set of wheels. but should work.

A (non-TDR member... shame on him!) friend of mine in CT just asked me about this the other day.



These are the questions I couldn't answer with much authority:

Are the spacers on the front rotors removable? - or do you have to buy new rotors without the 'dually offset'?



Are the 2500/3500 Dana-80's the same width?

It is a 98. 5 3500 dually 4x4 5sp. quad cab flame red 135,000 miles. I live in Atlanta,GA. The truck has a dana 60/80, 4:10s. I think the front is ok, but I do not know about the rear. If the rear end won't work that in the truck. What years do I need to look for?

Swap beds with someone!!! At the factory they use an old dull butter shovel to cut the holes (Read hog out the 2500 wheel well openings) out for the extra clearence. It is ugly under those fenders. Seccondly Just swap axles while you are at it. The axle tubes are shorter and it would look funny and suck up too much cash to convert to a "Normal" size drum. At that pont convert to disk brakes. The front spacers unbolt and chusk. The same brakes are up front as a 2500 but with a big ol' spacer bolted to the hub of the rotor.

year wise 98. 5-'02 as the housing has a provision for the rabs and rear VSS.

Heck, I was just contemplating the exact opposite, swapping a dually rearend and box onto my single rear wheel 98 2500. It's too bad we're on opposite coasts, or I'd go right to it! (Though I have 3. 54 rear gears). Feel like a road trip?
