If you live in the Bay area do not take your truck to Dublin Dodge for anything. I made this mistake and I am literally paying for it. I bought my 96 2500 4X4 from a ford dealer and got the ford extended warranty. I have had the transmission and radiator replaced at different facilities and they paid the claim with no problems. So I had a leaking axle seal and it is a warranty item that is a dealer service only item. It started off great Paul(service advisor)called me after I dropped it off and said that ford would pay for everything including a rental. Went to pick up my truck on friday afternoon well ford is now closed being on the opposite coast and Paul tells me sorry you can't have your truck til they pay. Being my birthday that weekend I had plans to get away so I did a big no no. I gave them a credit card as a deposit until ford paid the invoice. They charged my card. So now that they have been paid they won't put forth any effort to get my money back. NOT TO MENTION THEY BROKE A BOLT OFF BY THE CALIPER!!!!!!!!!!! Filed a corp complaint with daimler chrysler and going by there to raise hell today.
I took my truck there for an alignment with 500 miles on it. It was pulling hard right. They had my truck there all day and when I went to pick it up at 4:30 Friday afternoon they said sorry not done you can pick it up Monday. I calmly told the service writer that me and my truck were going to leave in 10 min. About that time the tech comes ripping through lot in my truck! I walked over to him asked if it was done was told yes. When I opened the shell to put laptop in back my tools were scattered all over bed... ... The A****** had just taken my truck out for joy ride! Told manager and everyone in showroom about experience in a not calm any more voice
Well I talked to the credit card company and they were more than willing to help. I have to fax them a letter explaining what happened and a copy of the invoice. Filled out the survey(thanks illflem) and to the gentleman in livermore(my hometown too),take it to Brentwood dodge I know it's a drive but they are a 5 strar dealer and when I told the daimler chrysler corp office what happened they told me to only take my truck to a 5 star dealer. Now about this broken bolt I really don't feel comfortable leaving my truck there again,does anyone have any suggestions?
Well I called and talked to the general manager(was on vacation so I left a voicemail)and then I called the service manager. The service manager wasn't any more helpfull than the service advisor who screwed this whole thing up. As a matter of fact he even stuck up for this guy,but then he said he would look into this situation and get back to me. And surprise he never returned my call. But I did talk to the warranty company this morning and the invoice was finally approved and will be paid by the end of the day today,I hope. We'll see how the whole reimbursment thing goes. And I will keep you guys posted. Oh and 1 thing a friend of mine reminded me of is the better business bureau,I will be filing a complaint with them too. :-{}
Well guess who called right after my last post. The gen mgr from dublin dodge who assured me that this would be taken care of today. This guy was helpful and understanding. Then a half hour after he called the service mgr called also apollogetic(now) and he assured me it would be taken care of today. We'll see.
Well the money part is finally squared away. Now the broken bolt and the leak. They were also supposed to check out a leak in front of engine which they diagnosed as a torque converter cooler line elbow. Repair wasn't made because had to order a part which I paid for. So I had to go to parts dept for refund on part,parts guy says before you get refund let me show you were it goes can do repair yourself. Well we pop the hood there is nothing wrong with this part,and I tell the guy its not leaking up here its down by oilpan and maybe front crank seal. Which is what I told service advisor to begin with. Parts guy crawls underneath and says yep your right,it's obvious at least there parts dept has it together. So the same mechanic who broke off the bolt is the same guy who misdiagnosed the leak. So I talk to service mgr and he says bring it back and we will make it right. So what do you guys think should I let them fix the broken bolt and the leak,or should I fix bolt and take somewhere else for leak repair and pay another $100 deductible.
