Where can I get 24" of 4" DuraFlex Ducting (p/n 9025) here on the West Coast for intake air? I see it comes in 25' lengths, but no where around here. Maybe I could come up with some if I knew what else is it used for in the real world.

Blu-meanie,

I bought mine through a local company (RGA Rubber & Gasket) located in Ft Smith, Arkansas. I'm sure someone on the west coast carries it.

Do a search on the internet; type in "dura-flex ducting". I've done the search before and found other companies that carry it too. If unable to find, let me know and I'll mail you 2-foot of it. It sells for $5. 12 a foot, plus tax and shipping. I mailed (priority) 2-foot to someone in Texas the other day and it only cost $4. 20 (if I remember correctly). So, for less than $20. 00 you can have it mailed to your doorstep and don't have to burn the fuel to get it Oo.

Is the "dura-flex duct" the same thermoplastic rubber product that PSM uses in his cold air intake systems?

Joe,

Based on the description provided by PSM, I believe it is. If not, the characteristics of the dura-flex 9025 meets/exceeds the requirements to be used in a cold air intake system.

If I remember correctly, the 9025 has a temperature range of -60*F to 275*F (sustained) with capability to withstand 300*F (momentary). Also, it resists solvents, oils, etc. Too, it is steel reinforced thermoplastic duct and very flexible.

I made and installed the cold air intake system (similar to PSM), and added an Amsoil EaA replacement air filter. The filter minder doesn't move anymore, which tells me I no longer have a restriction (providing all the air the turbo compressor needs).

I don't have a pyrometer, so I'm not sure what impact this setup had to cylinder EGTs.
