Correction

After looking at the gas receipt and the miles my daughter went it was 24. 1 mpg. Haven't gone through a tank in my truck yet but I normally go 400 miles on a little more than half. This time when the gage was at that mark I had gone 445. Seems like truck is more responsive. Tommorrow I take the VW to work but it want need fuel for a few days. Thats all I got to say for now.

400 miles on 1/2 Tank?????? wow!!!!!!! almost unbelievable..... how do you do that????? it would tickle the s*** out of me to get 400 for a tankful..... a stock tank... do you perhaps have an oversize tank???? please share with us how to do that... i have a 99 auto 3. 55 and i feel lucky to get 12. 8 to 13 mpg on road and town... 8. 8 loaded... . used to get 19. 9 on road and 16. 4 loaded before the wonderful, friendly folks at my dealership "flashed" my computer to give the auto transmission "more power"... . hahahahaha... what a joke... . I just had a "box" put on and it made a dramatic increase but not anywhere near the MPG levels i see here on the TDR... any further advice or help or at least commiseration... . love my truck, hate my MPG... ...

50. 5 on the VW filled up yesterday. Have done better so I will run a few more tanks before I comment on it. VW engines are set up different than the Cummins. I will drive truck to work tommorrow and fill up and see what it comes up with. But going by the gage its getting a little better. First time I have gone 400 on half tank before it would be about needles width below. You will lose some with auto but if I was you I would raise hell with the dealer after there reflash. You might have to take it to cummins I think they know a lot more than them boys at the dealer. I got the 3. 55 too but mine has bigger tires I think than yours. I drive like a old man too. :D

Filled up truck yesterday and I got 21. 1 that was only the first tank so I get back with more later. That was running 70-75 empty. I have hit 21 before but no two tanks in a row. Overhead computer is off a few tenths.

I'm gonna try it as soon as all the winter blend is out of the truck/pumps. Thanks again for posting the source and info Eric.

Still NO solid results. Come on, this thread has been up for over a month. I'm not sold yet..... I'll stick with Stanadyne PF until someone can post solid results.

Man was this thread buried!!! Can't believe still no comments!!!

Well, here's what I have for early results. In my truck I'm up to 16 mpg from 14. 5 and 15, all hand calculated. Seems a little more responsive to. In the PT Cruiser I'm up to 28 mpg from usually 25. Definate improvement in that, with a lot quicker throttle response.

Weathers warming up, my truck mileage should start to get better anyway. See what it does in the next couple months.

That's a very significant increase; but if that's what you got, then that's what you got. I'll know for myself and post what I find. I'm on my first tank of the stuff. This tank-full won't be a good indicator though, since my driving is a little out of the ordinary (more city driving than usual) but I've got 5 boxes of the stuff, so I'll have some results in a month or so.

Puff,

I read on the Duralt site that improvements should be realized after about 20 hours of running duralt through your system..... (Not 20 hours of sitting in your tank). I am pleasantly supprised with the improvement and just to keep things on the up and up I'll post figures for similar trips... ... ... I want to know hard figures as well.

Please bear in mind sometimes we get stuck in traffic... (In New Jersey anyway) and that was the case in my second trip(the better one) I was driving home from a Knife Show in Virginia and got stuck in traffic at 3 toll plazas... ... ... . I wonder how much better it would have been?

Eric

Just bought some

I should get it next week, right before my road trip to Ft. Stockton, TX. Should tell if there is an improvement on that trip.

First tank with Duralt inside was at 16. 3 MPG. The second tank came in this morning at 18. 2 MPG. When I got 16. 3MPG, I was pulling a 5000 lb trailer. So, I think that should be eliminated or adjusted with the fudge factor to compensate for the addition weight of the trailer and wind drag. Just kidding. This stuff has potential. I feel more power in the engine especially in 4-6th gear. There is more torque and the engine performs smoothly, not quietly, just smoothly. I didn't see the sharp increases some of the others have seen, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Blair:)

I think your right. This post is a continuation of another post that was completely filled. My first mileage before duralt was 17. 3 MPG. That included a little long distance and city driving.

Idea

Guys,

I think it would be a good idea to post your info as a before and after... ... . as well as how many miles on your rig... ..... stick or auto... 2500 or 3500... ... ... . no sig needed.

Eric

Sig has info

Ran 5 bottles throught my truck these last two weeks. Not routine travel but some repetative. My feeling are slight improvement.

Vegas and Central Valley are close altitudes I am guessing. Traveling over Tehachapi's 4000 ft.

Loaded with 2500lbs 18" on rack (wind resistance) on truck went Central Valley CA to las Vegas 16. 2mpg traveling with the wind No deralt

Return trip empty 20. 4mpg w deralt

Back for pickup empty 21. 6mpg w/ deralt

Returned two weeks late similar weather same in truck load added a 1500 trailer for half the trip 17. 2mpg into the wind. w/ deralt

Expected the return loaded to decrease mpg as did the empty trip which i assume is due to rate of climb difference. actually went the other way. deralt the cause ???? it was about 4th tank on it

General obs. I am going faster (heavy foot, tired of driving) getting same mileage as before. To me that would be an increase.

I will do some more regular driving and compare records. I have accurate data since December w/o deralt.

Just wanted to get prelim in.

Will post again.

I'm on my 4th tank using Duralt and so far haven't seen any improvement in mileage. Of course it is also very hard for me to know if there is an improvement unless it really is noticible. Part of the problem is that loads vary so much and even weather conditions. For example, driving back through the Columbia River gorge into a strong headwind has got to hurt your mileage.

Also prior to switching to Duralt, I was using another additive.

I'll keep using Duralt and will post again if I see better mileage than what I've been getting in the past.

Third tank using Duralt. 18. 3 MPG. Engine runs smoother, more energy in higher gears. Passengers are amazed at the zip it has. This customer is sold. 18. 3MPG is around town. Haven't gone out of town yet. May go to ABQ this weekend for work, may drive, may fly, find out later.
