Thanks, TDR Staff

anyone make performance injectors for the old 5cyl Mercedes TD's?

So. Cal. Diesel Prices

The duraslack boys over at the diesel place are sure whininng about our fellow Dodge bro laying down that 10:57 pass out west at some track because it is a trailer queen and not a driver, check out what this guy said: Certainly if it was a Duramax leading the charge, all you guys would be claiming "king of the world. ""

And you guys would be claiming "but he's spraying the hell out of the motor, so it's not real".

There's no doubt that is an impressive run. It's only time before the Duramax is in the same position! I know of one project that I think will be in that position very soon.

What Tomac is doing and what this Dodge is doing are two different things. Tomac is having fun *and* using the truck for daily driver/work. The Dodge on the trailer obviously is not a worker or daily driver, just a lot of money, time, and fun! I know of quite a few Dodges in the 11's though that are doing the same as Tomac. I think to break into the tens, any truck is going to have to be less streetable.

I have to laugh everytime I see a Cummins guy claim that for some reason, his ability to make horsepower on #2 only with a larger or second turbo is somehow better than the horsepower we make with nitrous. The only reason a lot of us are using the nitrous is to cool the motors and burn more fuel, which is EXACTLY the reason the Cummins guys are using a larger or extra turbo. Since we don't have the luxury of a hard component like a turbo to help us in that area yet, we have to do something different. You can be assured that as soon as we have other options and don't have to use the nitrous, there will be some new excuse from the Cummins guys why their ability to make equal or less horsepower to the Duramax is still somehow "better".

I'd be more than willing to dyno against any Dodge with one stock turbo and I'll leave the spray home, that will make things even. Now if you want the second turbo, or even an upgraded turbo, let me use the spray so that we are still on even playing fields. Sure, my truck is going to run hot, but so is yours. Even if I don't win, it'd be fun!

The Cummins is a great engine. I don't think you'll hear many Duramax people say otherwise. It's a solid engine that's been around for a long time. I don't think it will be king forever though.

With all that being said, I offer my congrats to Bill. He has definitely put in a lot of hard work (and money!) making that truck do that.

All I can say is let me be the first inline with my ' 03 and he better bring his baby bottle because he is gonna be  about it several already have been:D

aint no duracrap even close to 799 sorry guys. however the avg. duracrap can be made really fast with just two chips stacked. now the new hpcr cummins w/ stacked chips is fast also :)... . its all good cummins is just better. wait until the hpcr get a vgt turbo. out the box 500+ and a tq monster with just electronics. :) i will still have my 12v ;)

Racing is one thing, towing is another. A Duramax may keep up with a Cummins rated the same but durabilty of the Dmax is yet to be determined.

But from what I have seen first hand on the road. Well the Dmax this last weekend pulling up a long steep pass couldn't hold a candle to my CTD.

But on the other hand Chevy trucks are built lighter than Dodges. So we have to take weight into count.

well i guess it does b/c you have a power problem. at he wheels you are probably around 200hp. very weak i am not picking on you but the duramax has 270 to the wheels you might not realize how big of a d/f 70hp is. what you need is a transmission, gauges, edge comp and some rv275's. then you will ready to go. then your truck will scare you ;) if you dont bomb then just get in the right lane and let them pass ya and dont get your feelings hurt. if you ever bomb you will wonder why you did not do it sooner. trust me i got my dad he said i aint puttin no chip on my truck then we put mine one for grins he said after 2seconds of driving it with the chip on "so make the check out to cash" my reply "yep" the ez has not been off the truck since.

Hey Jar Head I'm enjoying a ride in the exact same boat as you !!

My truck is completely stock as far as power adding enhancments go ( although I did pick up 1 psi of boost when I added the Wildcat Max Flow Kit :) ). My good friend has a 2003 7. 3 stroker, and he can pull the same heavy travel trailer up a steep hill a little faster than me, not much faster though. He does have the 3. 73 gears compared to my 3. 54's, which is my only salvation.

But like CATCRACKER says, I just move over and enjoy the ride  , but that's not to say things won't change when the money rolls in !

yeah 200,000 miles and throw it away NO CAM BEARINGS!

I'm not fast and I'm not making excuses. My truck has done just what I bought it to do for the last 276,000 miles.

If the Dmax boys can turn faster times at the track more power to them! It's not my money.

I beat tomac in a pull off at a truck pull in wauseon ohio last summer. I had a STOCK hx35 at the time. No NOS,No water/meth,No propane, just good ole 12v torque!I drove mine 50 miles there, tomacs was trailered in.

Even if the Isuzu gets there before I do I still win in my book---- cause I'm right where I want to be---RIGHT BEHIND MY CUMMINS

JPLB22, You stated: My good friend has a 2003 7. 3 stroker, and he can pull the same heavy travel trailer up a steep hill a little faster than me, not much faster though.

Just remember, that's 7. 3 liters versus your 5. 9 six cylinder. About 360 cubic inches versus almost 460 for the FERD. THE LITTLE SIX THAT CAN!

One of the horse rags put a cummins 235 up against a duramax 300. They both had 12k in tow. They said the dmax won. Barely. Suprised the testing crew that the 65hp deficit only added up to a few tenths on the track.

My bone stock 01 HO pulls everything I have as fast as I want to go. If a duraturd or flowerjoke or anything else passes me, well I can live with that. It's nice to know that I can throw $1000. to the Cummins and make more power than I need though. So far, no bombs in the first 60,000 miles and may just stay that way.

Same with my '98. 5 (except for 30 - 40 mph headwinds on a steady incline when I'm dragging my 26 ft travel trailer - it's a little weak at those times) with 115,000 + on the odometer.

I laugh out loud each time I hear that someone's stock ETC gets outpulled by a DMax! Really!?! For the record, stock for stock, the DMax has a power advantage over an ETC. An '01 - '02 ETH evens the field (maybe not drag racing, but definitely for towing) and the '03 305/555 widens the gap. Don't even think of trying to run a loaded DMax against a 600! Of course, any truck can be made fast if you throw enough money at it.

I was driving down the road and a lifted CC Dmax comes zooming by. He is showing off, 6 inch exhaust tip on 4 or 5 inch exhaust, gauges, thats all I could see. He would slow down next to me and then romp on it trying to smoke me out. I didn't let it bother me, I am not surprised a V8 can outrun my I6 empty.
