I've been running an Amsoil Nano with a CBT and PSM intake for about 7-8K now. (I started using this filter mid-oil change cycle) After I put in the Garrett Turbo, the CBT was touching the oil filter so yesterday I took the CBT and trimmed a little off the turbo end. Fits better now, even though it's a little ragged on the end. Anyway, I noticed that inside the CBT there was some type of grayish residue. I could only see it in the right light in the tube and it was very minimal, but a definite rim of the stuff could be seen where the turbo lip/edge meets in the tube. I can't believe it is dust. I remember a post awhile back about some white residue of similar nature from the Nano, but I can't find the post. I was going to do a UOA at the next oil change, but now I'm a little afraid of dusting my engine. I run the same filter in my wife"s Jeep CRD and at the last oil change with 7K on the oil, silicone was upper limit of normal. I have taken great care to make sure the edges of the filter are sealed at the filter housing. What gives???
