DynaTrac's installed!!

I got my DynaTrac free spins installed on my 04 3500. It went quite well after I figured how to remove the old carterage bearings. It seems to be a well designed unit. Very happy with it and am looking forward to a long haul to see if there is any handling-milage differences.

The only thing I didn't like about mine was that I had to shorten the wheel studs for the hub caps to fit.

I installed them a couple of months ago. I haven't really noticed much of a mileage gain. But I have gained a lot in peace of mind. Now at least I can service the bearings, and if anything does go wrong, I can get the races or bearings at any parts store.

I just put some EMS hubs on mine. I will be driving 1000 miles to Seattle and will post my mileage also.

I put mine on shortly after I got the truck, so I dont have a good base mpg number to compare. I am averaging between 16-19 mpg daily mixed driving. Last three tanks were 17. 15, 16. 16, 17. 5, 17. 9mpg. This is very mixed city highway driving, if I put the 35 MT back on she goes down about a bit. the truck drove much better steering was more precise. I feel better not spinning all that driveline. I had to replace one of the front axle u-joints on this truck and my last truck from continual spinning. No more.

This only seemed to be an issue when I was running my steel wheels.

The centers fit fine with the aluminum wheels, probably because the flange is thicker and therefore spaces the attaching point out further on the studs.

Your caps fit ok with your aluminum wheels? On my 2006 with Dyantrac Hubs the studs are still too long with my factory aluminum wheels so that my hubs like about 1/2" from fully seating like they did before. I took some measurements after the install and from what I could tell I believe the stock studs were 2 1/2" long and the ones in the Dynatrac kit are 3". Other than this they are great. I get asked about them all the time in parking lots. gas stations, etc.

The caps won't fit with the steel wheels, but they fit fine with the aluminum wheels...

I have aluminum wheels, had to cut them off for caps to fit.

I just removed the metal keeper on the inside of the cap and then replace the metal keeper a 1/8th of a turn off from oem. Now the cap fits like stock.

I understand that stud #610-471 from Dorman can be used in place of the factory studs which allows one to run the capa without further modification. Further Dyna Trac said they would give me credit for the studs and ship the kit with out them.

Did you go for the Dyna Loc hubs offered by Dyna Trac?

About how long did the whole job take you.

You know, we ought to do another group buy and recieve some kind of discount. A group got together and made a 10 person (or so) purchase from Dynatrac a while back. I called Dynatrac a couple of months ago and they said they would do this... anyone interested??

Forgot to say that I already have the lug bolts and "U" joints. I know they told me that I could order without the studs and they would give me credit for that so as long as that stays the same then I am in.
