Competition Anyone ever road raced their CTD - not drag racing...

Competition 241ld or NP205?

I just spun the rollers on Sunday and did 404!

I have a 4x2 dually, DTT 91% TC and VB, HX-40, BDV injectors, MegaCannon, and drag comp.

404 was on 3x3. 5x5 I only did 374.

I have opinions from some, I would like to hear more on what you think this combo should do.

FYI... My smart controller was on, had no way to turn it off, I was coming out of lock-up. Also had low fuel pressure.

Something doesn't sound right.

With a Drag Comp on 5x5, BD 4 injectors, K&N Filter, small Hybrid HX55, 3:55 gears, and a SB clutch I was able to make 506HP on a Dynojet Model 248.

Guessing, I would think you should be around 450.

How much boost were tou able to make on the dyno compared to on the street?

When I dynoed I made 43psi, on the street I typically peak at 44psi, that could also be part of it. I have heard many people say that Dynojets don't typically load our trucks enough to build boost equivalent to what you see on the street. In my case I didn't think it did too bad.

Being that my boost gauge only reads to 35, it is hard to say, it is going past the 35 mark.

Heavy smoke from the get go but it cleans up, so I would think the turbo is OK.

Keep it coming guys!

I have 4:10 gears.

Coming out of lockup and low FP hurt your numbers. I would get a lockup switch installed or start your run at 70mph so it stays in lockup. Then correct the FP and you should be around 480-90hp (assuming BD5's are 150hp or so) but the 4. 10's might drop that slightly, especially if you start the run at 70mph.

Fix the fuel pressure issues and get the bypass plug for your Smart Controller (so it will stay in lockup).

What do you have for fuel lines/pusher pump and turbo? That could be hurting you too.

I thought the same thing until last weekend. I had the box on 4x2 and was easily and quickly able to blow past the wastegate before the box stopped fueling. I need to get my headgasket taken care of so I can run higher boost pressures.

The 4:10s are probably not doing you any favors either.

I am going to be putting a set of twins on, but I want to get close to what everyone is telling me I should be doing with my current set up.

If I fix the fuel and lock-up problem, and dyno at 450 +/-, I'll be happy.
