I have an 01. 5 2500 with a Jacobs E-brake. I have had the brake about 7 months now and I use it all the time loaded or empty. My questions is this: If I down shift without reving the engine, is all that torque hard on my clutch? I am no stranger to stick shift as I have been driving standards all my life and I am as old as dirt. I began down shifting my RAM with a rev to bring the engine up to speed with the transmission, but, there is a delay in the e-brake, about a second or so and that causes a gain in distance before braking. Without reving the engine to match the transmission, there is a lot of reverse torque applied to the clutch.
Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.
