I just ordered a set of Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains in 35x12. 50R17 after debating and researching for over a year. I got about 42,000 miles out of the stock BFG's. I was seriously looking at the Pro Comp All Terrains but had a hard time justifying going down to 50psi for a 3000lb max load rating. I aired down the BFG's to 55 and hated the ride. I know it's not quite comparing apples to apples. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I assume a tire rated at a max psi of 80 aired down to 50 or 50 psi must feel softer than a tire with a max psi of 50 aired right to 50psi. Regardless of the difference I was leary of perceived feel of side wall flex. I run unloaded most of the time but still feel better about getting an "E" rated tire since that's what the truck came with.
As a side note and a question to anyone running these tires. My BFG's sucked in the rain even with the TST (look at sig) turned down. They broke loose quite easily and now with 42K on them are ridiculous. How do the Toyo MC do in the rain, hopefully better than the BFG's.
