is anyone running the eagle 114 in a 17x10? i am thinking of putting these with a 35x12. 50x17 aggressive tire possibly pj's on my 04. 5 3500 with 4. 5" lift and bushwacker flares. just wanted to know how many inches they stick out further than stock? most people are running either the 18 or 20, but i like the tire selection and price in the 17.

I am running them... pics in my gallery. I actually got them some time ago but I am seeing more and more folks "hop on the bandwagon" with the 114 rims.

The 17x10 114's have the "standard" aftermarket backspace of 4. 65 inches. Compared to the factory 6" (approximate) backspace, you'll be 1. 5-2 inches further out plus the 1" additional for the width of the wheel for a total of about 3 inches. I remember another member whose name escapes me that had to do about 6 inches of lift to clear the 10 inch wide wheels with 35's. It was a gray short bed quad cab.

More and more tire manufacturers are making tires in the 18" size such as Toyo, Pro-comp, Mickey Thompson, and Parnelli Jones - all in load range E.

There are precious few wheels out there that have close to the proper offset. When I had my KORE/Weld wheels, I fit the 35's with 2" lift in the front, with only minor rubbing on the passenger side control arm. I didn't have the heavy steering I was expecting from the larger tires. Because of the proper offset, they didn't have to swing in such a wide arc and steering effort was almost the same as stock. I hear it's not the same with the 4-5" backspace wheels. Just something to think about.

I stand corrected. Looks like he fit them under the truck with a DRC race system. I think that's 2. 5" in the front and 1" in the rear.

Nice truck Razkul99. Do they rub anywhere?

You can't beat the price of the 114's compared to the high end wheels that run $450 +.

RAZ,

Nice ride man. What flares did you use? I've got the 114 20x10s and want to make sure they'll cover. Looks like ATS?? I'd love to roll 35's. (33's on now) How much airsaw magic did you have to do? Your picks are a little wide in respect to the fender mods.

As to the 114 x 10's in general... Yeah, the backspacing is a little wider, but with flares it makes the truck look stocky (broad shouldered). I like it. You will notice a little extra steering effort to crank em around in the parking lots. Keep the polish on em, they should do ok. Chrome finish is simply ok.

The 114's in 18" have a 6" backspacing with -22 offset - they are also only 9. 5 wide - pretty darn close to stock for an aftermarket wheel. I just ordered and hope they fit my 35 m/t's under there with my new KORE Chase! Everything is on its way and should be installed next week.

It is for my new mega - I will post photos when it is done.

My secret formula...

Okay... Okay... Here are some answers for you guys...

As mentioned in a previous post and in my signature block, I am running the KORE/DRC Race system. As described this system adds about an inch in the rear and then just about levels out the front with 2. 5 inches of lift.

I put the Toyo M/Ts (35x12. 50/17) on and the ONLY rubbing I had was on the wheel inner liners and the very tip of the fender well itself. Nothing about 20 minutes of "airsaw magic" didn't cure and most folks can't tell anything was done.

As far as the fender flares go, I went bushwacker extend-a-flare which I had painted and clear coated to match. As you can see there is a rubber "bumper" that outlines the fender flares and keeps them from making hard contact with the fenders. I was pretty picky installing mine and thus far have no complaints after over a year as to their wear and tear ability. If you do a search you will find just about every opinions on this brand and that but I wanted coverage along with something that looked good to my eyes. I am not sure if it is my keen ability to clean my truck once a month or if I am just a gifted fender flare installer but I have not seen the paint wear described by some here on TDR.

All in all, I put the LEAST amount of lift I had to clear the 35s in everyday driving and light off-road use. I am happy with how it turned out and I appreciate the kind words about the truck.

Razkul99,from The Pictures It Looks Like The Tires Are Still Covered By The Flares. I'm Running The Same Flares, Do They Seem To Keep Stuff From Hitting The Truck Even With The Wider Stance? Is Your Tire And Wheel Set Up 3" Wider Than Stock Like Spooled-up Listed? By The Way Great Looking Truck.

BBarner, those will not stick out too bad but will definitely need fender flares. They will extend 1. 5" further than stock. To be neutral for a 9. 5" rim requires 6. 75" backspace but of course you're not going to find those. These should be good. Post some pics when you get 'em mounted up

The bushwackers cover everything except right behind the tire (where the fender flare slims down. ) I have thought about coming up with a some mud flaps to accomodate but they would have to be mounted behind the wheel well to clear the tires. Up to this point, I have just let my nerf bars take the brunt of it. :D

well, i decided to go with the 114's. but i got the 20x8. 5's with 36x13. 50x20 super swamper iroks load range e. i could get the backspacing i needed in the 20 and they are tucked under my flares by about a half inch. i was worried about the 20's but with a lifted long bed ton it still looks proportional with a large aggressive tire.
