The 17x10 114's have the "standard" aftermarket backspace of 4. 65 inches. Compared to the factory 6" (approximate) backspace, you'll be 1. 5-2 inches further out plus the 1" additional for the width of the wheel for a total of about 3 inches. I remember another member whose name escapes me that had to do about 6 inches of lift to clear the 10 inch wide wheels with 35's. It was a gray short bed quad cab.
More and more tire manufacturers are making tires in the 18" size such as Toyo, Pro-comp, Mickey Thompson, and Parnelli Jones - all in load range E.
There are precious few wheels out there that have close to the proper offset. When I had my KORE/Weld wheels, I fit the 35's with 2" lift in the front, with only minor rubbing on the passenger side control arm. I didn't have the heavy steering I was expecting from the larger tires. Because of the proper offset, they didn't have to swing in such a wide arc and steering effort was almost the same as stock. I hear it's not the same with the 4-5" backspace wheels. Just something to think about.
