Oh yeah...

I ordered my Smarty Jr. PoD earlier this week from Bob Wagner and I just got it this morning. Now it's time to go have some fun!!!

The mailman just made my day!

OK, RMacneil, have a LITTLE fun! Have too much fun and you will be helping the transmission gurus pay off their Christmas credit card bills! LOL Mark

I loaded up the Performance tune with PoD @ 99% and HOT DAMN! This Smarty Jr. kicks the $#it out of my old Flashpaq—hands down. I think, just to be safe, I'm going to drop it down to 80% just in case I get a heavy foot. But needless to say, I'm very pleased.

There is one thing I noticed right away that was kinda odd... my turn signals seemed to become, I guess, hesitant. Their blinking pace isn't perfect like before. I don't know what's up with that, but they still work, so...
Anyone else notice that?

I have seen the blinkers get into a state where they blink very slowly. it happened just astray I set the tire size. after I turned off and restarted the truck they were fine again.

Exactly!
And you know, I DID change my tire size at the same time. Interesting. Thanks for the info. I'm glad it wasn't just me.

That's a nice box. You may want to read about the POD setting. To set it at 80 does not mean 80%. The 1 to 99 is just a reference, not a %, and is not linear. I think that info was posted by Bob Wagner. If you can drive a bit like granny in town, it improves your mileage.

I finally installed my WesTach Boost/EGT combo gauge today after sitting on the parts for over a month. I used the MOPAR single gauge a-pillar. What a sweet set-up. I've only been on one test run, but I am stoked with the position of the gauge and the two-in-one action. It looks stock—I don't think you can beat it. I should take some pics...

I've had the same one on my truck for nearly 9 years and the only complaint I have is that the little red paint at the end of the needles is fading - so it's been a good unit.
Also I wish I had gotten the 30PSI gauge instead of the 50.

That's excellent, Prairie Dog. Good to hear.
I almost got the 50 PSI gauge, just in case, but then I figured I wasn't going to be getting any crazier with the turbo so I stuck with the 35psi. I am hitting 30 PSI pretty easily but I'm pretty sure that's my peak boost.

I'm a happy camper.

Should have gotten the 50 psi gauge. Once you add a boost fooler to get rid of the factory boost limiter and make it run better, that 35 psi gauge will be pegged under hard throttle.

I have the 35 psi boost gauge in my Wetsech dual and like it very much. When I first installed my Smarty jr, I took it out to test it and used the go peddle to the floor. The gauge pegged and then the hose blew off the back of the gauge. The gauge went to zero and all I heard was a hissing noise. At that point I thought about a 50 psi gauge but then decided the 35 psi might be the better choice because, I might get a little more life out of my 48RE if I keep the boost inside the range of the gauge. The hose coming off didn't bother me either because I felt that this would be a pretty good indicator of someone hosing my truck if they borrowed it.

Regards, John
