Rmtdr Dyno Deal

Anybody home in Austin, Texas?

I think it's time to get the ball rolling for us here in the eastern NC/Va area.

I have heard that there is a dyno here in Jacksonville NC, I have not found it yet. I would love to put my STOCK truck on one, just to see what I have before I start bombing.

I will be getting my truck back from the body shop hopefully this week if not early next week. I miss her.

How about it Pete, John, Wes, Stan, and a whole bunch of others?? What are your thoughts ??

See Ya

Chris

You got my attention!

I would be interested in adding my Intense Blue Sport to the group. :D I work rotating shift work :(, but am off every Sunday and sometimes on Sat & Sun.

Keep me posted. :D :D :D

How does the 17th of Nov sound ??

I know there are alot of folks driving Cummins Powered Rams in our area. The Road runner installer drives a good lookin 2500 CTD, I see him all the time.

I am looking at getting together at the "Riverview Cafe" in Snead Ferry, NC. The food is great and the prices are low. It is a sea food restaurant.

This is not for just TDR members, the way I look at it is if you have a CTD you are welcome. Who knows I or someone else may get another person to join the TDR.

My email address is -- email address removed --, email me if you are interested in joining us for food and conversation.

Your idea of the get together at the "Riverview Cafe"

sounds GREAT!! It is VERY close to my house so that

is good, and as you said the food is great. I will

definitely be there if we can get everyone together.

On your question about the dyno, your right, there

is a shop on Highway 258 by the name of "Wayne's

Dyno and Performance. " I will get a hold of him

Chris and see if we could get a group discount. I

know that he did this awhile back for some of the

racers that regularly drag race at "Coastal Plains

Raceway. "

I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for

posting!! Hope to see you soon!

Good to hear from you John.

So far it is you, RattlinRam and I. I have not heard from any of the other folks that we met with last year. I am trying to get some more of the locals involed in our get togethers.

The food is great and the prices are cheap. The only bad thing that I can see is you would have to park in a gravel lot.

If you see Roy or Robbie maybe we can talk one of them into letting us run a stock 2002 against my stock 2001 on the dyno. There is no way I want to go against your truck Roy showed me your numbers for torque and HP. Great job For an UNDER VALVED ENGINE. :D :p :)

Glad to hear from you.

Chris:

I will be out of town for a few days but as

soon as I get back I will try to contact

everybody.

On the H. P. /Torque thing, I don't think

I would want to compete with you or Pete

on the pulling sled either. Your type

trucks did REAL GOOD "stock" at the Scheid

Rally truck pulls.

Talk to you soon.

Hey Chris,

Glad to see everyone getting back together again. I'll have to pass on this date, I plan on attending the pull down in GA on that weekend. I think I'll head up to MD on the 10th, but any other time I would make it.

I vote for the dyno runs, I went to the Mason-Dixon chapter up in PA, they ran several trucks, it was a blast. I have heard that there is a dyno jet down your way right off of 70 . I'll check into it if you can't find out more about the one in Jacksonville.

What happened to your truck Chris??

Wes

Ramin On

I'm looking at the 17th of Nov.

I need to find this place that John was talking about, the eating establishment may change to somewhere closer to where the Dyno is. The chow is very good at the "Riverview Cafe".

The date can be changed if, need be. I picked the third Saturday because that is when we got togather last year.

I would like to start firming this up the first week in Nov so I or John can lock on the "Riverview Cafe" and the Dyno shop.

Wes

I had a young Lady pull out in front of me in a caravan. Lucky for her I was only going 15/20 mph I was getting ready to turn on a side street. I did not even feel the impact in my truck but I am sure she felt all of it in her van. The body shop figures roughly 6800 in damages for my truck. I should get her back by mid next week. :( :(

The more the merrier.

Count me in too

Chris, John & Rattlinram,

Work permitting, you can count me in too. I'm going to try to go to MD with Wes the weekend before. I should still be able to make it to JAX. I'd like to see how mine dynos stock too. Keep me posted.

Dyno Shop

Chris or John

Did you find out anything about the dyno shop yet. I think it would be fun, maybe if we plan far enough in advance we could get enough guys to get a good price break. I know of a few around here that have turned up trucks that have talked about putting them on the rollers. I got to get a new clutch installed before I can do the dyno thing again, but I'll be a happy spectator.

For the 17th I hope to make it down to GA, to see the Enterprise trucks, but if that falls through I'll see you then.

Wes

Is this open to anyone? I live around Fayetteville, N. C. and would love to attend. I just came from Atlanta for the SETDR get together. The dyno would be great since I now have my DD2s, power puck, gauges, and boost module installed. I would be curious what the actual difference the mods make on my truck.

Dean

Power Puck?

Dean, or anyone else, what the heck is a Power Puck? I've seen it a few times, but figure it was a typo. I thought people were trying to type Power Pack too fast. If anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

David

David

The puck is made by Diablo (I think). It is a minor fueling box, similiar to the EZ or the VA. Dean is the only person I know who has one, maybe he can enlighten us.

Wes

Power Puck is made by Diablosport. It is a timing and light fueling box. It is suppose to give you about 62 horsepower and 160 torque (factory settings). Its peak hp is around 1900 rpms and it is intended to help down low for towing. The cool thing is it can be opened up and connected to your serial port on your PC. There is software you download from Diablos website to make adjustments. I have not tried this but it is suppose to work according numerous websites. As far as connections go it is like the VA. It connects between the Injector Pump connector. Unlike the VA and EZ it carries a lifetime warranty and uses heavy duty construction not plastic. www.diablosport.com

Probably more than you wanted but there it is.

The More the Merrier

Dean

You are welcome to join in the fun. As is anyone else who wants to. I don't care if you are a member of the TDR or not, who knows you may be before the weekend is over.

We are a bunch of gear heads and (wanta be gear heads like me. Just kidding) that get together for chow and B. S. ing (hope that term don't get me flagged as a potty mouth on the TDR) WE started meeting last year on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We had from 6 to 14 trucks at our gatherings. It is a no pressure come if you can kinda thing. We have a pretty good time. We have met at Wilber's BBQ near Goldsboro and at Golden Corral's and had a Pig Pick'en near Raleigh.

I don't know now long John will be out of town and I will find the Dyno shop and talk to the owner next week (5-9 Nov). I don't have a cost per run yet, so please don't ask yet.

Sometime next week I will need to start putting our numbers togather. This will be for Chow and for who wants to do the Dyno.

Hope this helps understand Nov 17.

See Ya

Chris and all interested parties:

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was out of

town for a few days.

I checked with Wayne @ "Wayne's Dyno and Performance"

in Jacksonville. I asked him about running our trucks on his

Dynojet on the 17th and he said he has a "Dyno Day"

scheduled for that day. He quoted a price of $50. 00 for

four (4) runs which is VERY GOOD!! He said he would

start the tests at 10:00 A. M. and would run throughout

the day. He expects a good turnout from the local "street

and strip" crowd, but said he would do his best to get

our trucks done. For everyones information, his address

is: 3789 Richlands Highway (Hwy #258), Jacksonville, N. C.

How does this sound to everyone? Let me know. I told

him I would try to call him back and let him know about how

many of you are interested.

Thanks John

Glad to hear from you. I think we should meet at the Golden Corral at 1100-1130. That way we can eat chow and chat and then go the 5-10 miles down the road and do the dyno.

The G C is easy to find it is just off of highway 17 and western Blvd in the WalMart parking lot.

I'll start the count I am in for one truck on the Dyno and 2 to eat. If you don't want to do the chow thing we can meet you at the dyno at around 1:00-1:30 PM.

Thanks again John.

See Ya

Chris

Thanks John & Chris. You can count me in for 1 dyno and probably 2 eating. One question for you though, John. Since you're an experienced dyno runner, how do the 4 runs work? I'm getting Wes' old EZ box tomorrow and was wondering if I could do 2 runs without and 2 with. Or do they do all the runs back to back and take an average? Chris, for us GPS users, can you post the address of Golden Corral?

David

How tough is it on our trucks? Is it no worse than running it hard on the street. I am trying to make arrangements to be there, but there is a lot going on for me right now. Like to meet you guys, see the trucks, and talk truck.

David,

Did I see you were from Rocky Mount? I will be moving there in the next 12 months with Abbott Labs. Maybe we will meet sometime there for some story swapping and bombing. :)
