Rmtdr Dyno Deal

Anybody home in Austin, Texas?

Dean, are you from the Laurinburg(sp?) plant Abbott is closing? What do you do there? My wife is the BQA training supervisor at the RM plant. I'm sure at some point ya'll will cross paths. Definately we'll get together when you move here, hopefully before.

David

David,

Yes, I am from the closing plant. We will be a part of the shared services group supporting Costa Rica, Buffalo, Dominican Republic. I am a system analyst in the IS department. They are saying that the plant does not have room for us so we may be located in some leased office buildings somewhere in RM. I think it will be late next year before the move since they haven't figured out how to close us yet. In fact we have hired over 100 temps due to the volume and no lines have been moved. Maybe I will be able to make the event so we can meet. Talk to later,

Dean

David:

To answer your question about the dyno runs, the four

(4) runs on the dyno would be four (4) regardless of who

runs. I don't think Wayne makes a distinction on that.

As far as whether it is hard on your truck or not, that

is a debatable topic on this website. For me personally,

I don't think it is any harder than I normally run my truck

especially pulling my trailers in the mountains up 4-6%

grades or racing Pete on the interstate. Wayne has a

big fan he puts right in front of the truck and it should

be cool that day so that will help. You don't really need

to "average" the runs as the Dynojets seem to run pretty

consistent.

Hope this helps.

MMM,$50 for 4,,Very interesting

Here is where the G C is

Here are the direction to Golden Corral in Jacksonville NC.

From New Bern/Maysville go south on Hwy 17, you will pass one traffic light at Moore Buick/GMC, and the you will pass the hotel corner, Golden Corral is on the right in front of WALMART.

From Holly Ridge/Wilmington go north on Hwy 17, you will go past the Marine Corps Air Station, go over the New River Bridge, follow traffic for New Bern, approximately 5 miles thru town. Once you go past the Chrysler dealer, your next intersection will be Western Blvd. You can see Golden Corral ahead on the left. Two options, turn left at the light and go thru the parking lot of Walmart. Continue straight and use the left turn lane into the parking lot.

Interstate 95 south get off on exit for Interstate 40 South towards Wilmington. Then follow below route.

Interstate 40 East, take exit 373 Magnolia, which is Hwy 903, left toward Kenansville. Turn right onto Hwy 24 towards Jacksonville.

Hwy 24 East, Richlands, follow Hwy until it merges with Hwy 17 North, then go towards New Bern.

Hwy 24 West, Morehead City/Swansboro, you will pass Marine Corps Base make a right turn onto Western Blvd. Tire Country in on the corner.

If you don't understand these direction, send me an email.

Look forward to seeing you on the 17th. Let me know if you are showing up, so I can lock on enough time for the Dyno and seats at chow. :D

See ya

Chris

I'm definitely interested. One stupid question though... who runs the truck when it's on the dyno... me or the dyno guy? Thanks.

Vaman:

The owner(s) of the shop generally sit in the drivers seat

when the dyno test is being run so they can see the

computer screen on the dyno and properly "load" the

drum. However, Wayne (owner of Wayne's Dyno) will

let you sit in the passenger seat to watch what is going

on while the test is done. I did this when he ran my truck

there about two months ago.

BTW, the truck is "tied down" pretty heavily and the wheels

are "chocked" so there is no danger of the vehicle going

anywhere.

Hope this helps.

Come on John give us the numbers. I need something to shoot for if mine ever grows up enough to run with the big boys. :D

let me know

Hello folks

So far I am at 2 to run the dyno (David and Me) and 7 for chow. Come on now, with all the CTD running around out there I know we can do better than this.

John, Pete, Rammin'on, Rambo and on and on.

If you are scared of being beat by a "stock" 2500 then you may want to stay home. :D :p ;) :D

This will be a good time the weather will be sunny and about 74.

See you there.

After seeing trash talk like that I sure better see some good numbers. :p :p

All joking aside on Monday David and I ran into a guy from a performance shop in Rose Hill. They have a slightly tuned Powerstroker, he says they might bring it by to show us up. I hope you guys can hold up to him. :D

Wes

Chris, Mo and I will meet everyone at GC hopefully between 11 and 11:30AM. I assume it is probably a 3 hour drive so if were late just start without us. I'll pass on the dyno - hate to subject my truck to that. If anyone wants to know how fast an ETH will pull a 10,000# trailer up a 6% grade, Mo will give you all the facts as well as how an ETH does on easier grades againt a Dura Joke towing a similar trailer.

Stan

(John, went to Surf City the beginning of September but coudn't find you - CU Saturday).

I would LOVE to run on the dyno (especially with a Pstroke there). It can't be any harder on the truck than sled pulling but I, unfortunately, won't be able to make it. :( I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and running on the dyno. I hope everyone has a great time and hopefully we'll see you next time.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question about the

dyno. The day I ran on Waynes' "Dynojet" he would only

let me run in 3rd gear. The OD was locked out which I found

out later from Joe D. was the wrong procedure. It should

have been run on OD like they do on the "Mustang" Dynos.

As I recall it was mid 300's on the H. P. and around 800

on the torque. However, I ran AFTER that on the dyno at

the Scheid Rally in late August and on the "Mustang" they

have I had a best of 508 H. P. /1311 Torque. If I can ever

get this HX-40 working right it might be a little higher.

Chris:

I will definitely run my "lowly" 12 valve on the dyno with

you guys and I must say I am definitely NOT worried

about "getting beat by your stock truck. " Now... ... . a sled

pull... ... that may be a different story... ... ...

I talked to Pete Peterson two days ago and I believe

he will be attending too.

Stan:

Sorry I missed you and Mo when you came down. I was

out of the state on a family matter I had to take care of.

See you Saturday!

Good Fun

Wes and to all

This is all in good fun with no harm intended.

The power stroke you are talking about is it a driver or a trailer queen ?? Even if it is a trailer queen bring it on with John running his truck I am sure the mighty "C" will be turning in the high numbers. Lets have some fun.

John

I think the term you are looking for is "under Valved". :D

My truck is bone stock other than an K&N air filter and free flow exhaust. I have no other mods on my truck. I am thinking about a couple of things to do to it but don't have the $$ at this time. I just got my truck back from the body shop tonight and I will have her ready for Sat. 4 runs for $50 I am planning on running 2 with a K&N and 2 with the stock air filter.

So far we have a 2500 Auto, a 2500 6 speed and a "slightly modified" 2500. Roughly 6 Rams an 12 Diesel heads.

Like I posted before I am looking for a base line before I start doing things to my truck.

Thanks to all.

See Ya.

Chris

Hope ya'll have fun ... . I have an in-law situation ... . so I won't be able to make it ... anyways ... Happy T-day to all of you!

Keith

Keith:

Sorry you won't be able to make it. You and I are

"similarily" equipped and I really wanted to talk

to you about your truck, but, I will catch you next

time.

Well.........................

Chris,

Well, I just found out that the wife is hosting a BABY SHOWER at the house on Saturday. Actually she told me about it months ago, but you know how that goes. (oops!)

So, I’m going to drive down for lunch and check out the rigs. I’ll probably tag along to the Dyno just to watch. RATTLIN is bone stock for now and I'ld like to get gauges put in first, in order to compile more information to go along with my first baseline Dyno run.

Hey Santa, are you listening?

Anyway, I didn’t get a shift trade at work, but I slept pretty good today and it should be a lite night at work tonight, so I’ll leave from work in the morning. Dad said he would ride along with me to keep me awake (3 ½ hour drive). He’s got a 2000 V-10 Ram, but I guess I can’t convince him to bring it, however maybe you guys can show him what them noisy Diesels can really do. :D :D

Hope to see ya at the GC around 11:00-11:30.

Chris

From the way this guy talks this Ford is truely only slightly turned up. These guys are dealers for that Diablo Power Puck. I think they might have added a measily 70 hp. If they do show up don't expect anything spectacular.

I'll see you guys tomorrow.
